I had an account with Wamu, there were various times they chared me 32 dollars because I supposedly overdrawn from my account, which I never did, But one day someone took out 50 dollars from my account that I did not authorize and I called them and told them it's a fraud, they told me They'll look into it and they try to get my money back. When they put my 50 dollars back, I was on vacation and I was suppose to receive a check in my account Wednesday for 400 dollars from my job. I Wednesday morning I tried to take out my money in an ATM and found out I couldn't. I called the customer service number to Wamu and they told me they closed my account. I couldn't believe it, how could they close my account with out my authorization, so I asked them how I get my money and they said that I was overdrawn 400 dollars, I asked them how can that be if you closed my account and I can't take out any money. They had me on the phone almost 2 hrs and I had to explain to them I was on vacation and my 1 yo daughter was hungry and I needed money. They didn't even care!! They told me I had to wait until Friday morning!! Fact is Washington Mutual is the worst bank ever, they charge you fees for nothing, don't help you when you need it and their customer service reps are rude and not even knowledgable of what their doing.
