Company came to Louisiana from Georgia to "help" with Hurricane Katrina victims under the name of Southern Restoration Company. Stated he feels the "Lord" made this his calling! Promised to complete home restoration "turn key" operation and also to have home the "showplace" of the street. Should have finished within 8-10 weeks (their words).

Have affidavit filled in and signed by Mr. Wayne Cobb (President) stating job would be completed by 4/29/06. This was needed to obtain final draw from Mortgage Company.

It is now 6/20/06. Contract was signed (actually 3 different contracts signed so he could circumnavigate the law requiring a State License) on 12/2/05. A draw schedule was agreed upon and all draws given to him have been in the $10K range. Once he received draw then work stopped for a week or more!?

Coincidently, work on his investment homes, in which he had purchased here in Slidell (after entering into our contract)picked up, after receiving these draws. Two of the three have since been completed. When questioned, Mr. Cobb swears none of our money went into any of these homes, then he state when one dollar is used from the pot, another dollar follows and gets put back into the pot!

This tells me he has no set accounts for each job and probably has no records worth a s#@t to prove otherwise. He is good at deception and has stated he is only a salesman and over his head as contractor. He has even stated he doesn't know what he is doing! States he has to seek out his "pastor" when you catch him pulling his stuff, like his Pastor runs his businesses.

An average of three hours of work per/week has been spent on my house over the last 3 months (and that is being generous). Mr. Wayne Cobb sets up the subs to do work, then when they complete work, denies having money to pay subcontractors, for which I have had to do on several occasions, in order to keep them from placing liens on my home.

I have even had to buy my own materials/supplies to get work done, since he refused to pay subcontractors enough to do scheduled jobs (according to subs). I have subtracted these expenses from amount owed. Mr. Cobb has been paid more than enough monies needed to complete home repair. I have a bit that I owe, for which will remain as hold back until 100% completed. Job has not been completed! Each week we see less and less work being accomplished.

Many promises have been broken by this Contractor. Since he emphasizes how much a "Christian" he is and a HIGH ranking member of a Pentecostal Church somewhere in/near the Stockbridge, GA area, you would think he could be trusted and relied upon. I did and now I am getting burned.

I personally think he is an embarrassment to his Church and to the Christian community he proclaims to represent! If his deceitful actions and mistruths are part of the Pentecostal Doctrine, then my heart goes out those of you being led down the wrong path. I only bring this up due to Mr. Cobb's continuous reminding of his so called faith and honesty which is the exact opposite of how he handles business, but yet mixes the two (I call this a Hypocrite) Much more work remains to be done and/or fixed. I don't think he will ever finish to my satisfaction as he keeps trying to cut corners, in which I keep catching.

I will end up hiring another contractor to fix their mess, having him investigated, possibly arrested and going to court! The Judicial system here is coming down hard on un-savvy construction companies, particularly the ones from out of state. Not a route I wish to pursue, but will do if it comes to that! Southern Restoration Company, also known as AAA Georgia, have proven to be slow, irresponsible, untrustworthy, undependable and without any integrity what so ever!

A check with the BBB will show about half dozen or more businesses under his name with a couple complaints, but do not state nature of complaints. This should be a red flag in of itself. Just use their office phone of (800) 273-1799 in the search of BBB to find them. As they say, "hindsight is 20/20".

If I knew then what I know now, I would have never hired them. For those considering using his services, I have found that his Profit line can be as high as 35%-45% on average. Normal overhead and profit for contractor's should not exceed 20% total.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, November 12, 2008

I am Wayne Cobb, Owner of AAA Georgia. First I met Wesley Stokes in my hometown of Stockbridge, Georgia, He was a claims Adjuster, and we did several jobs for him here in Georgia and he liked our work so much he asked us to come to Slidell to fix his home.

When we got to Slidell it had been flooded, we had difficlty throught out the job finding some place to stay and alot of times it was hard to buy material, it was a very hard and almost like a nightmare situation. We ended up having to buy houses and fix them up in order to have places to stay and for my men to stay. We ended up selling several jobs in the area and we hired him to be the supervisor over these jobs. He worked with us for a little over a month, and he didn't do a great job, and I had to fire him, one reason, and the money was tight, and another reason a thousand dollars cash became missing from a fund we had set up to do some cabinets with, and our relaltionship went downhill from there.

There was one time he gave me a draw, and I gave my men a draw, and I found out he had bought material and paid the men, he took it upon himself to start paying the men even after I had already paid them.

After we had worked there for a while and we bacame aqquainted with his neighbors, we found out what kind of person he was and no one really liked him, he was even having problem with his family, as far as his wife. He was going through a hard time already.

We did set his house up to be a showplace, working within the funds that the insurance allowed, we gave him several upgrades, instead of a 25 year 3 tab shingle we gave him a 30 year archtechtual shingle. WE replaced single pane aluminum windows with triple pane vinyl windows, we replaced his pressed board box cabinets with new cypress wood cabinets and new counter tops. we replaced a vinyl floor with hardwood floors, we built him a bar in his den, and made several electrical upgrades as well.

As far as our company going over there it was a bad investment from the beginning. We are christian people and are very sorry that something like this has happened we feel like we left him in better shape than he was in the beginning before the storm, I will admit it took a long time, but he is a very difficult person to work for, and when I fired him he bacame an almost impossible person to work for.

We are penticostal people, DON"T judge penticostal people by what this man says, when we go out of town, and work out of town We do consult our pastor. Since he is not a religious man, he would not understand.

Our company lost thousands of dollars trying to work the Katrina storm. It is something that will take years for us to recuperate from. but we have done hundreds of jobs with very little complaints. We have a very strong referral list of happy customers. Please don't judge us from what this person has said.

He wrote this in anger before the job was finished, this has been almost three years ago, we haven't responded to this before now, because I didn't know it existed until a couple months ago.

Thank-you,
Wayne Cobb
