Complaint Review: Wayside Gardens

Wayside Gardens Uses Consumer's money, provides no product and no apology Hodges South Carolina

I, like another consumer, have ordered plants/shrubs from Wayside Gardens which did not ship at the stated ship time despite the fact my credit card was charged a few days after the order was placed. When I cancelled the order several weeks after the stated ship date failed to produce the plants, I was told via email that I would receive a credit on my card within 30 days and no apology. THREE MONTHS later, the credit finally appeared.

In the interim, I ordered a few more shrubs for Fall planting on 8/31/07; my credit card was billed on 9/05/07. Now it is the end of November 2007, the first frost happened a few weeks ago (long past the ability to plant anything in my zone) and STILL NO PLANTS!

Given the arrogance of this company and their past transgressions, if I cancel my order, I may receive the plants in time for Spring planting BEFORE I receive a credit!

In summary, Wayside Gardens appears to have adopted an illegal business model whereby they use the customer's money for 7 to 8 months without adhering to federal law which states customers must be notified and given an opportunity to cancel any order that does not meet the stated ship date within 30 days.

So not only is this a buyer beware company, it is a fraudulent and criminal company! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING from Wayside Gardens.
