I opened my Verizon bill and found a $75 dollar charge for a call to Web AccessZz at 900-444-0326. The call occurred at 12:33 am for 19:00 minutes on a Sunday night. My 2 young children and I were sound asleep.

I believe that this occurred during the time that I had a home page hijacker on my computer. It took me a week or so to get it off. It was an about:blank hijacker program. I finally used Adware Away and got it off.

The Verizon bill listed Integretel, Inc. as the billing service on behalf of the 'Information Service' that was called. I called them and got a guy who kept telling me that I had called that 900 number, despite my saying no. I told him that I would not be paying that $75 charge and he offered to reduce it to 50%. I reiterated that I would not pay his charge ever and he decided that he was authorized to give me a 100% reduction in the bill. He also informed me that I shold put a 900 block on my telephone through Verizon.

So, now I wait for the next Verizon bill to see if the charge is reversed.

Ex-employee from Integretel and how to get charges off bill

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Integretel doesn't really have their own employees. What they do instead is hire call centers to take these calls for them. The employees have no idea what integretel is really about, so there's no need to yell at them. They are simply there to adjust your bills. What you can do is call, and they will explain the charges. Let them explain. Refuse to pay. They will then offer a block. Refuse to pay again.

They will then most likely offer a 50% adjustment depending on the situation. Refuse to pay. They will then do a full 100% adjustment. It's all a big hoax to get money from people. None of these employees like taking these calls, but they are there to adjust these charges for you.

So simply, let them. And, be sure to call your telephone company and have them place a block on all 900 numbers, which doesn't always work.
