Complaint Review: Webchex; Equity First Savings

I am a single mom, struggling financially. When I recieved an email from this company, it sounded like the answer to all of my problems. I was looking for a payday loan, and a credit card for people like me who have bad credit. It was a package deal and it sounded awesome. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, that's because it is. I didn't read the fine print until after I had signed up with them(which was pretty stupid of me) and saw the "membership fees". It was a processing fee of $199.95 for the Black Onyx Visa and another $120.00 which would have hit my account in the next few days following my application. The more I tried to reach these people to cancel my membership, the more and more frustrated I became. Their telephone number is a recording directing you to their website. Their website directs you to a fax number. I checked on this website and found hundreds of complaints about this company. Because I am persistent, I emailed them 2x, faxed them like 4x, notified my bank of what they were trying to do, and am adding my experiences with their company to this website. Thank Heavens I was able to cancel my membership before they royally messed up my checking account. My advice is this: Always read the fine print. Don't give out your personal info. over the internet, and definitely do not give out your credit card or bank account info under any circumstances. Thanks Rip Off Report.
