Webwire.com or Webwire press release distribution services is truly a scam operation.

Beware of this company! If you submit a press release and pay $25, $50 or $100 or more they company will delete your press release you paid for WITHOUT any explanation.

This is what happened to me. I paid the press release fee and after 5 days I checked back in my account and said, "Press Release Deleted." -- What?

In submitting your press release to Webwire dot com they ask for 3 different contacts namely the CEO, owner, vice president, other private contact information.

After sending 5 emails to the customer service department they finally answered and said "because we have offices in different cities in the United States, and since I used the same email address for each for the owner, CEO and vice president name, our about us page on the website has a different person's name, our zip codes are not the same of each of our regional offices so the "business experts" in customer service email answering deemed my registration a fraud." -- What?

I guess I don't expect the arty journalist types or low level customer service clerks to be MBA's in business, however they are extremely incompetent. Probably another internet company outsourcing to incompetent workers in India. In any case they are making a very poor reputation for themselves.

Our CEO's of a fortune 1000 company do not want our marketing team to use their email addresses to register. Big surprise. Like any other company with more than 5 employees we used a catch all company box from our director of marketing when submitting press releases.

Do they really expect our CEO and vice president will spend their next 2 months reading spam and the unsolicited email lists they those email addresses on? Good for them when they sell your email address and name to hundreds and thousands of spam sites not good for our company.

I guess they can't wrap their heads around anything other than the cookie-cutter 1-5 employee business with same address and zip code for their entire staff and regional offices.

What's even more ridiculous is when searching for Webwire's company contact information like business address, phone number, zip code and email it was almost impossible to find! They tell me the name of our CEO, vice president, company addresses and marketing director is not true, but then they hide their own address, phone numbers and names of key management in their company!

Finally, I used a paid business search service to find the following information about Webwire press release distribution search. What's even more disturbing the company doesn't publish any address or contact information on their own website. I had to spend an hour to dig up this information. Then it turns out they use a PO Box address to hide behind once you find their state business registrations! What a scam and what hypocrites this company Webwire.com is!

Apparently, the genius behind this entire operation is Mike Swartz. Probably a fake name.

In conclusion don't waste your companies money and your valuable time dealing with this totally incompetent and hypocritical company who makes you list the top people in your company and all their contact information, tells you it's a lie, deletes your press release you paid for and then hides all their contact information include physical address, email address and phone number.

It was only after I spend an hour of research with a paid fraud search service I found WebWire.com hides behind a PO box address in Atlanta, Georgia.
