I joined Weight Watchers the end of January 2007. I signed up at a meeting and decided to purchase a monthly pass ($39.95 for 2 months) and a starter kit for $25.00. I gave them my credit card number because this is the only way you can do the monthly pass. On Feb. 14, 2007 my cc was charged $39.95 for Feb/Mar dues. Then on Feb. 23, 2007 my cc was charged $64.95 (for what I don't know - I'm assuming more dues and the starter kit).

On Mar. 27, 2007 I cancelled my membership because I had attended only 2 meetings and I knew if I didn't cancel it then they would continue to bill me. I got the confirmation on account cancellation through my email and assumed that all was well.

Oh no, on May 4, 2007 my cc was charged another $64.95. I have tried over and over to get this resolved and they don't respond. I left a voice mail and no one returned my call. I have emailed them about 10 times and I always get a response that has nothing to do with the overcharge just "as per your request we have cancelled your membership".

To this date I have been charged $169.85. Pretty expensive for 2 meetings. I don't know what to do at this point except maybe do a charge reversal on my credit card. Be careful before giving them your cc number for monthly pass. When they make a mistake, it's a nightmare.

Myself, and many others would love to have a phone number to call for problems like this.  If weight watchers really wants to say it is consumer error, than let us contact you to work out the details.  Unreliable e-mail that you can ignore is not acceptable.

Monthly pass is always 39.95 for 1 month. A 2 month sbscription does not exist.

The amount you site $64.95 is exactly the $39.95 + $25.00 you admit to charging but you say you don't know what it is?

Here is what happened because I have seen it before....

Your $64.95 purchase was not electronically sent to your bank by Weight Watchers until a few weeks late. This happens because they often use the old fashioned carbon copy imprint method of taking credit card information. And they submit all of them at once in a batch sometimes a few days later and it takes longer to process these types of paper slips.

Most meetings are held in temporary places like churches and they dont always have electronic magnetic readers like a Walmart.

So that explains the 64.95$ charge on Feb 23.

Now the other $39.95 charge that you were billed for on Feb. 14, 2007 happened because when you went on the web site to activate your subscription you DID NOT use the starter voucher code that you purchased as part of that 64.95$ charge.

Because you didnt use the voucher access code you bought you were charged immediately for your first month.

All you need to do is follow the instructions that areon the web site.

"20. I purchased Monthly Pass, but when I completed the sign up on the website I was not instructed to use the Starter Voucher that I received at my meeting and I was billed again.
By mistake you may have signed up for Monthly Pass directly on the website rather than entering the Access Code on the Starter Voucher you received at your meetings location. This will result in another charge to your account.

Please contact Customer Service and provide the Access Code from your Starter Voucher. Once we validate your Access Code, we will contact you by e-mail or phone to inform you that your account has been credited for the additional charge."

Another mistake by the customer being blamed on the company and shouted from the internet treetops.
