My husband and I contracted Welcome Home Rentals on July 7, 2003. We were looking for houses, townhomes, or duplexes to rent by Sept. 1, 2003.

We paid $85.00, and were told it was a discount from $99.00 for six months. We were promised automated emails every morning with our specified listings. We are not getting emails as promised.

They said they were putting in a new computer program, and it was to take only 3-4 days. It has taken almost a month, now. We were asked to come in to the office to get listings.

We do not have time to drive 30 minutes every day to get listings. We then were also asked to call in, everyday. We still had problems getting listings.

We had to call Rent-Ohio and speak to Bud Reed to get listings. We found out that most everyone has been fired since we signed up, at the Shawnee, Kansas, office. Rent-Ohio is another branch.

We called Bud Reed, at Rent-Ohio as I found his name on the website for complaints. The home corp. is in Tennessee, and we have been told by numerous employees,in Kansas, that they have no idea what is going on, and the turnover is high.

We did, regrettably, however, sign a paper stating that the money was not refundable for any reason. We both feel rather embarrassed, and taken advantage of. We are now trying to look for rentals on our own.

We feel that other prospective clients should know about this company, and how unprofessional they do business. Not having any service guarantee for at least 30 days is bad business.

We have to do all the phone calling, and legwork. We called the better business bureau, and emailed Problem Solvers (wdaf channel 4 in Kansas City).

All they seem concerned with is the fee, and do not seem to care about offering a quality service. We never seem to talk with the same customer representative more that once, since most everyone has been fired.

The company had to get a new manager, recently, to solve their problems. He accused me of not knowing my own email address! That insulted me. I have no problem getting emails from other sources!

We do not like being placated, and lied to. We hope that others' do not use their service, and should complain, also.

Since they had problems with their business, they shouldn't blame their clients, and should refund the fee until their business is running properly.
