After leasing a Toyota Matrix through Wells Fargo Auto Finance in 2004 and making all payments on time for 47 months, I turned the car into the dealer that I now lease my new car with in 2008. The Toyota Matrix was turned in under the allowed mileage and in mint condition. My only mistake was not having a witness and a camera with me that day.
About a month later I am being harassed by Wells Fargo Auto Finance for additional charges and fees. They said that there was "bug" damage to the front bumper.
I explained that the car was not turned in with any body damage, but they did not believe me. Apparently they had the car picked up here in south Florida and transported by Manheim Auto on a flatbed truck three hours north to Orlando.
They never wanted to consider that the claimed "bug" damage could have occurred on that transport. I will never do any kind of business with Wells Fargo Auto Finance or their partner Wachovia Bank again and would advise others to view all the complaints on this site and others before doing business with these terrible banks.
