I made a serious mistake in opening a "team member" account with Wells Fargo. Since the beginning, I have been charged fees that customers aren't charged, in spite of the fact that it's supposed to be a free checking account. I'd rather pay the $10 a month than have them nickel and dime me to death.

Ordinarily, overdraft protection from the attached savings account doesn't even work if there's not enough money in it to cover the entire overdraft amount in the checking account.

The rules seem to be different if it's an employee checking account however. Just so they can charge me the $7.50 every time. They deliberately hold deposited checks from other banks (they can find out almost right away if the check is good) because they are familiar with my checking activity and they know I most likely have checks still coming in.

Before this latest check clears, they will hit me with about $300 worth of overdraft fees. Also, when I first set up the account, they deliberately spelled my name wrong. I spelled it out on the application in big, block letters so they couldn't possibly mess it up. I couldn't use my checks or debit card because the name was wrong. Delay upon delay.

About a month later when I was facing eviction and the repossession of my car, I finally got new checks and a new debit card. Wells Fargo has an extremely horrible attitude toward the employees.

You can tell up if you dial employee services or Human Resources. If you don't want to key in an option - like every other telephone system on planet earth - they'll hang up on you. They can't be decent enough to transfer you to an agent. And they do it for the same reason they do everything else to the employees; because they can get away with it because you're an employee and you can't say anything out of fear of losing your job.

Wells Fargo is the worst bank I have ever delt with. My student loans are also through this lender and I have continued problems with both the bank and the lending services. Their coustmor service people are rude, unprofessional and have know idea how to help. Offen times they put you on hold for long periods of time while they "get a second opinon". In fact I spoke to one guy yesterday that refused to get me his supervisor. They charge you for giving you the help they owe you and then they treat you like an idiot. I am done with wells fargo I only wish i could sell my loan to an outside company (but the law says no).
Stay away from wells fargo!

I do not fault your loyalty to your employer, that is a good thing. However, after being victimized by Well Fargo (I have my own ripoffreport filed), I have seen things that are in fact unbeleivable, and there are many, many stories out there.

I also see where you have not chosen to post any sympathetic responses to other reports. Some people's lives have been severely, negatively affected, by NO fault of their own.

Please understand that every time you automatically beleive a customer to be wrong, you are proving many of our cases all over again.

If your an employee and don't know how your account works and what you need to avoid a monthly service charge on your account, you should be fired! That's like working at McDonalds and not knowing what a Big Mac is!

"overdraft protection from the attached savings account doesn't even work if there's not enough money in it to cover the entire overdraft amount" So, let me see if I have this straight, you think that if you have overdraft protection from savings and you have exceeded your balance in your checking by say a $1,000,000.00 that the bank should cover that for you because, after all, you have overdraft protection and your an employee. Excuse just a minute while I gather myself. Need I say more.....

"They deliberately hold deposited checks," what does that even mean. Just because you deposit a check doesn't mean you have cash in your account. The check must be collected, come on this is so basic for someone who works for a bank.

"they can find out almost right away if the check is good" again, what did you mean by that? Yes you can call the other bank, yes they will sometimes tell you if its good(not many banks will do this anymore), but it doesn't not mean you have collected the money yet. Processing can take several days and by then the money could be gone meaning that the check you deposited is now being returned. Now the money that you deposited is being subtracted out of your account because you deposited a bad check. But wait, it seems you already spent that money and your other checks start bouncing all over town. Oh no, this couldn't be your fault, let's blame it on the bank. What could be worse, you work for the bank and you should know how all this works. Now your complaining to your supervisor who is questioning why you still work there because you have no idea how banking works.

Okay, the story of about spelling you name wrong is laughable at best. Deliberately? You mean to say that the banker has nothing better to do than see how mad they can make you? I have heard of the chef spitting on the food but I think you got that one beat because you are trying to say that the banker spelled your name wrong to that you couldn't use your checks and your debit card. This lead to almost eviction and repossession of your car? Excuse me, just another quick sec to gather myself. If your checks are wrong, the bank can replace them in less than ten days and the same with a debit card. Eviction requires a least 30 days notice and repossession occurs on a vehilce that is in excess of 90days late on payment. Come on, tells us what really happened, you got fired, right?

Not that I need to go here after all that but there are plenty of operators in HR.

Get another job and get over it.

I have been a Wells Fargo Customer for several years now and I have seen several cases where my friends have been screwed by this bank. I am not surprized by the treatment this "EMPLOYEE" received because I have not gotten the best out of this bank that they advertize.

My wife's niece is the victim not only of the person who stole and cashed one of her checks but also of Wells Fargo Bank to whom she now is told that she owes OVER $300.00! YIPE!

I am still trying to get her to place her complaint on the Rip-Off Report and am sure that soon it will be added to the ever increasing list of fraud and criminal activities perpetrated by this so-called "American" institution.

It is sad to see this old company turning into the corporate "Syndicate" that it now appears to have become. My only suggestion is

"DO NOT GO WITH WELLS FARGO BANK!!!"
