I moved to Nevada on June 7th, all set to attend UNLV, loaded up with student loans and all set for the future. This future and my credit was ruined in 60 days or less by Wells Fargo Bank and Telchex. Telchex when contacted refused to give me a physical address but, their phone number is 1-800-697-9255, the attorney's office involved is Friedman & Wexler also, no address given their phone is 1-800-843-4656.

I opened up an account at the Wells Fargo bank, I explained that my parent's Money Market account would be sending checks that I would deposit in their bank. They advised me that there is an out of state check hold. And I understood this. I opened the account and deposited over 1166.00 into the account at one time. I went about my business and weeks later as usual paid my rent, my utilities, auto insurance and other bills. I was awakened out of a dead sleep by the apartment manager pounding on my door that said my check had bounced he wanted money now plus a returned check fee of $200.00. (Interesting behavior Nevada places have pounding on a woman's door in the morning, screaming for money)

I contacted my bank and asked why they returned my rent, there was money there and the hold time had expired, she said, "oh on top of that there is an addtional hold for "new customers" no one ever told me. They said the rent check and others should have been paid, "oh sorry" we will fax your apartment manager a letter of apology. The manager still charged me the $200.00 and Wells Fargo refused to reimburse me. I paid all the fee's associated with this. But the nightmare wasn't over yet.

At 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 1st, I got a call from some gorilla screaming at me to hand over $80.00 to him by 5:00 p.m. the next day.

Half awake with some gorilla sceaming at me, it's hard to digest all the events, he claimed Wells Fargo stiffed him on the returned check fee and that he was calling from Telchex. I gave this stranger access to my account to withdraw the $80.00 from my bank account. I hoped the moving to Nevada nightmare was over.

Yesterday, my nightmare continued an attorney's office by the name of Friedman & Wexler left a message demanding money that was not paid to Telchex. They have reported this as unpaid to TRW. I called Telchex the attorney wants a letter faxed to them stating this was paid or else. Telchex won't fax them anything they can only mail me a letter. Telchex and the attorney both, refuse to give out any street address or mailing address only phone numbers (is this a Las Vegas thing or what? California insists all businesses give out a mailing address) I discovered from Telchex that the gorilla that demanded the money waited a week to take the money out of my account (I guess he was busy eating Bananas's furnished by Wells Fargo Bank) as a result my check info was placed with an attorney for collection.

The attorney's office of Friedman & Wexler have now placed this on my credit report even though it was paid and have refused to remove it.

It's disturbing that Wells Fargo has apparently climbed into bed with Telchex to rip off new customers, and no one not even the law firm gives out any physical address for it's victims.

Initial Disciplinary Comm Reply:

#3Consumer Suggestion

Tue, April 25, 2006

My letter to the Disciplinary Comm (see above) resulted in a prompt reply:

"RE: Mitchell Harlin Wxxx No 06 CI 1745 and Lawrence Frxxx No 06 CI 1803

We will request that the attorney submit a response to the matters you have raised. A copy of the attorney's response may be sent to you for your comments. We will then determine whether further investigation is warranted. We will contact you if we require additional information from you and will advise you of any decision we reach in the matter.

Sincerely, Myrrha B. Guxxx, Counsel"

If more people complain about these 2 then perhaps they will get jacked up by the Disciplinary Commission.

This is an Illinois Collection Agency, easy to find: a bunch of bottom feeding debt collectors in Chicago

This is a bunch of bottom feeding debt collectors in Chicago, they buy old clapped out debts for a few pennies on the dollar and 'mine them' to get paid for these old out of date debts that no one else can collect. They have absolutely NO interest in knowing if the debt is a just debt of is an error. They do NOT reply to complaints and they use the various credit reporting agencies as a level to get people to pay.

Report them to the Illinois Supreme Court like I did below:

Complaint Against: Mitchell Wexler & Michael Friedman
DBA: Wexler & Wexler and also Friedman & Wexler

Dear Director:

The above attorneys operate a 'collection agency' at 500 W. Madison St. Ste 2910, Chicago, Ill. 60661 (Tel: 312 474-1000, 800 843-4656).

I have repeatedly corresponded with their office regarding a 'supposed' debt of $1250 from March 1987. This has been placed onto my various credit reports (see encl.: Trans Union Report of 3/31/06 - item #A enclosed) as a collection item.

This is the only black mark on my report and when challenged by Trans Union on my behalf this firm has "verified" the debt several times.

I have pointed out to this firm that:
1) the debt was not mine,
2) the debt was from 1987, not from 1/2004 as they claim,
3) the debt was originally from CORUS BANK (see TU affiliate bureau Merchants Association of Florida, Inc. Report of 89/19/97 - item #B enclosed) and it is a 'Refreshed' debt,
4) their firm is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act by reporting such a refreshed debt and claiming it is a current obligation and not 19 years old

Attorneys Wexler and Friedman are in violation of several FCRA sections and have not responded when challenged on the accuracy of their reporting to the various credit agencies.

My otherwise perfect credit report at Trans Union is marred by this incorrect information which they have not corrected despite many attempts to have them delete the incorrect information. They are unresponsive to my complaints.

This firm is not a member of the Chicago Better Business Bureau but due to many complaints it is rated by as 'unsatisfactory due to unanswered complaints'.

I ask that attorneys Mitchell Wexler and Michael Friedman be disciplined by the Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois, that they be suspended from the practice of law for at least 2 years and that they be compelled to correct the flawed information that they have provided to the various credit reporting agencies.

Sincerely yours,
