Wells Fargo Bank Victoria Garcia Aprroved a checking and saving on second chance account Sun City, California
I recently opened a checking and saving a Wells Fargo bank. They called it a second chance account. It if you had any record on check system. I supplied them with my required drivers license and they ran it thru their computer it was approved. I deposited approx. 320.00 and opened a saving for 100.00 and the balance went into a checking account. Two days I deposited a social security disibility check which was about 1180.00. They gave me temporary checks so I wrote checks and sent them in for elec. bill, cable bill, and hand delivered a 800.00 for my rent.
On the 4th day I tried to withdraw 50.00 from my saving and they told me that the account was frozen for 10 days and then they would send me a refund. On the 5th day and finially got a hold of someone by phone and they said I had a 380.00 debit from a previous checking and it didnt show up on the computer when I opened the account. I offered to make payments to clear this up this dept. Not approved. Im sitting here 7 days later. My rent check is gonna bounce,
my land lords pissed, I out of gas, Im out of food ,Im out of dog food, My elec. bill checks gonna bounce. Im on disability so my funds are limited. Can they hold the funds for ten days.
Can anybody help me

A check will be be immediately clear right after you deposit it because it is not cash. The check could take up to 10 business days in order to get it clear. Another reason is that you just opened the account, so you have no credit to the bank. As a result, the bank won't credit your check right away because they do not know whether your check is clear. You are using the check as if it is cash.
I am sorry to hear about your bounced check. I hope you have learned from this experience. Never expect that a check will be clear within that short period of time. If you are going to be behind on your rent because you just deposit the check, tell your land lord that you are still waiting for the check to be clear and give him/her an approximate date (which would be about 10 business days after your deposit).
