My nightmare with Wells Fargo began when I purchased a Tempurpedic bed which was financed through them. Shortly thereafter I began receiving sales calls from my local Cincinnati WF sales office. i was not intrerested at the time in a loan of any kind, but after so many calls I decided to at least listen. I was experiencing a little financial pressure supporting two households while my precvious home was on the market and thought a small loan would help until the house sold. I went to the WF office, applied and was given not only a loan secured by my automobile  but also a $5,000 WF credit card which I do not plan to use. Both of my accounts with WF are current.  Within a few weeks of getting my business relationship established with WF I began receiving multiple phone calls daily from their 877 740 3335 phone number. I called the sales office that sold me my loan to complain. They told me that they were trying to help me by calling to offer me lower rates. I asked them if they were able to offer me a lower rate than what they had given me in July and they advised me NO. So I asked to be put on their company DO NOT CALL list. The calls have not stopped. Every time they call me I call the sales office for assistance with stopping the calls and am given very lame excuses each time. I have threatened to notify the local police, contact the FTC and our local trouble shooters in the media. They don't seem to care in the least.  How is a large company able to get away with continual harassment? I googled the nimber and learned that hundreds of people are being harassed by them daily. Mine are twice daily. My call block service does not block out of state calls. What's a person to do?  Should we gather for a class action law suit? This has got to be illegal. They just won't stop no matter what!!!!!!!!  Please help me. Thank you. goodfynder

This is not illegal. Here is an except for the do-not call legislation from the FTC:

A telephone solicitation is a telephone call that acts as an advertisement. The term does not include calls or messages placed with your express prior permission, by or on behalf of a tax-exempt non-profit organization, or from a person or organization with which you have an established business relationship (EBR).

An EBR exists if you have made an inquiry, application, purchase, or transaction regarding products or services offered by the person or entity involved. Generally, you may put an end to that relationship by telling the person or entity not to place any more solicitation calls to your home. Additionally, the EBR is only in effect for 18 months after your last business transaction or three months after your last inquiry or application. After these time periods, calls placed to your home phone number or numbers by that person or entity are considered telephone solicitations subject to the do-not-call rules.

So, they can continue to call you for up to 18 months from your last purchase from the company. There's nothing that can stop them legally, you are one of their customers. Now if you terminate all your accounts with them and tell them not to contact you, then you may have something to stand on. However, as long as you are a customer of theirs, they can legally continue to call you.
