I deposited my payroll check before the nightly cutoff on Friday at an automatic ATM. I do this every week andfandf the money is always available immediately. This week, though, they listed the check as 'pending' and it is still in that status today. Supposedly its a deposit "pending" to "verify" although I have deposited this check weekly for years now. My account is now overdrawn with fees and I have yet to be given info on when they will release my money or why it is still pending, now Monday afternoon.

They should let all bank robbers out of jail because managers and district managers and the ceo was robbing the bank from the inside

So why is it ok for the top people at wells fargo to get away with robbing their own bank. But they arrest and prosecute people who rob them. While they rob and ruin their customers financially for life. How come its not a crime for the CEO. If they are not going to prosecute the CEO or any other top management at wells fargo, then they should release all convicted bank robbers.

And why is this thief executive woman allowed to keep this $95 million of stolen money. It seems wells fargo don't care about their damaged reputation. Because they are the MOB. This was "ORGANIZED CRIME".

Wells Fargo fraud issues

#5Consumer Comment

Based on your initial post and your rebuttal post, it doesn't sound like you are an irresponsible consumer at all.

I will say this:  Wells Fargo has their own issues as evidenced by the recent disclosure of their nationwide opening of fraudulent accounts without the consumers' consent or knowledge. This is not the only fraudulent practice by Wells Fargo, but it is the most recent exposure.  The fine is $180M+.  Where are the funds going to come from to pay this fine? Not from Wells Fargo or its CEO. Wells will figure out a way to make the consumer pay, in my opinion.

Looks like they have a new policy to take a long-standing WF customer with a consistent deposit for many years and force fees against the deposit. I can understand if this is a new customer or a new deposit but that is not what this customer indicated in her post.

If WF can open fraudulent accounts and suddenly change deposit clearance times on a standard deposit - it is time to change banks. If I were you OP, I would move my accounts to any other bank or better yet, move it to a credit union.

I understand it's so easy to label me a slacker....

However, I am not. I am very careful with my funds and know where they are, and are going at all times... Nor do I feel this is some "conspiracy" on the banks part. I received the ATM stub Friday stating my funds would be available 9/10 (Saturday), but that the deposit was "pending" Seeing it pending still Saturday at 8am I called my local branch (because I know and like my bankers) and even they said they saw it was put into pending status... That they saw it was listed as to "verify" but with no reason listed for the verification all that they could figure is that it was a system "fluke" but it still showed a release date of Saturday, so assured me it would be available still later that day.... And they apologized,

because although it states that checks can be held for several days for whatever reason... .. Their policy also goes on to state specifically the reasons being if a- for some reason they expect the check to end up not payable b the customer has an account that frequently, or recently, has been overdrawn. Or c- they are freezing the account due to suspected fraud.... None of the above applying to myself, ( surprised?) And, even if any of the above were the case, they also stated that their deposit policy also specifically states that if a check is held longer than is normal under mode/time of deposit, that the customer will be alerted of the hold via an account alert call, email or !message, whatever customers

preferred method of contact was. (Mine was online account alerts and they even verified that no alert of any kind had been sent) . So..... I assumed the issue was fine and went about my business.... Of writing checks and charging to abandon??!!! No...... To not worry about the Monday morning automatic bi monthly transfer to savings I had scheduled with Wells Fargo, which is why I called them Saturday, to see if I should cancel that transfer. They assured me I didn't need to, that they could assure me the funds would be there to transfer. So this morning you can imagine my surprise to wake up, check my account, and see my checking was overdrawn ( with a fee) to complete my transfer to savings. Called

my local office again... All they could see now was the same they showed before, again. No explanation for it. They called the national branch... No answer there either... Check still pending, no answers as to why, or when this would go thru.... My bankers didn't even know, they put in a ticket to corporate for the error.... I suppose this websites name implys I was placing blame, but actually I am just putting info onto the web in case this is happening to someone else.... You are probably asking yourself why I need all my money transferred to savings.... Well, as stated, I am frugal. I pay the money that needs to go out for bills and then I transfer half of my income to my interest accruing savings twice a month. I have

a disease called HNPP. It is essentially nerve MS, or painful nerve MS... I see specialists in Rochester MN MAYO Clinic about 20- 40 times per year, depending upon flare ups. I unluckily have the severe form, affecting all my limbs. I am compulsive about the deposit because I should be, I have to be. I went from being 32, mom, wife, business owner to having my legs\arms\torso go numb suddenly, seizures, er visits due to my torso numbing to my right side..... To my lungs numbing... And failing. So. Yes. I am no longer well to do like I once was. But I am building legacy's where I can, while I can, and for me, its my savings. I do not say all this to get pity, but just as some do assume it is the "big bank "

after them, placing blame, judging without all the facts... So too, it seems, that people instantly think you are an irresponsible slacker if you report a situation where your account gets overdrawn.... That people assume you just fool around trying to spend money when you do not have it and blame someone else, etc. At the end of the day, the president of my bank called me assuring me he had taken the overdraft fees off, and that although the check was still in pending status, that it is indeed an ERROR , most notably because of the lack of alerts and fact that the release date is now in retrospect. My bank ended up personally putting funds in to bring !my checking ! back to positives, and they will simply

remove the same a!punt when the check is finally deposited. The president stayed in for 4 extra hours tonight to figure this out for me.... So, no, no one is out to get me... But what about the careful widow w kids this happens to, or the college kid that needs to pay for books, or the elderly out there, the ones that do not know their bankers, or the bank procedures, as well as I do..... The ones that will be told to " stop blaming the bank" when they are needing to retell this situation to their landlord, insurance agent, kids.... I reported this not to blame but to alert and empower. There is a deposit issue going on. One that is not following Wells own policies. One that even the local branch had to report. So that

it can be fixed, because even large bank corps have bugs sometimes, and to have a record of what happened to me in case it happens to someone else. Even you. *don't judge lest ye be judged thy selves*

Oh Yes...It's ALL Their Fault!

It's the "Blame Game" all over again because the big, bad, rich bank had nothing better to do than to "get" little old you!

The ONLY reason you are overdrawn is because of YOUR failure to properly manage YOUR OWN checking account!  YOU wrote out checks or used a debit card when YOU didn't have enough money in the account.  It doesn't matter what reason or excuse they give, YOU FAILED to be certain YOU had the money BEFORE using the account and you were wishing and hoping the debits wouldn't come thru before the check did!  I will bet two more things....

1.  You don't know what their official "Funds Availability" policy is.

2.  You don't keep written records with and on-going running balance and not use the account until you have the verified balance in your account!

Oh yes...

Its ALL their fault and you were completely helpless in this situation,
