I want to tell my side to this story. I have over 25 years of publishing experience and I have an extensive list of satisfied clients. what was this individual doing when I first started in the publishing business, he was certainly not in publishing.
His company artist was someone who he hired and who worked from a hotmail account and did not even have a real email address for me to send the high res. files to. the owner of mercury publishing house has no experience and certainly did not know what size he wanted the dust jacket to be, no clue.

he kept changing the final jacket size, at least 5 times to my records. including the spine width. this boris made an incredible amount of changes to the artwork and it went on for a couple of months.

he also gave me a very badly drawn idea of a dragon and a girl. I could and would not use this inferior thing as anything more than a suggestion of what to show on the cover.  I drew a beautiful dragon and girl with an alien creature on her shoulder.

I drew and coloured this illustration in photoshop, this is what most illustrators do these days. they create digital art with any number of softwares available, he didn't even know that.  the printer that I sent the final art to also agreed that this boris did not know what he was doing. he has now opened up under a different company name.  beware of this scam, he is not a publisher, but he can still file a rip off report against me. what does that say about the world we live in today!

LIES ABOUT WESLEY LOWE

I can't believe what I read in the "RIPOFF REPORT". This personwho owned Mercury Publishing is a fake. I have read and catalogued all of the emails for Wes and this Alexander Kalhanus, the so called Publisher asked for a picture for a book cover, they send a very juvenile sketch to work from (many people do as they are NOT artists). This Alexander requested change after change. Wes was very patient with him. Usually the publisher will request 2 or three changes to an image but this "person" requested over 40 changes. If Alexander Khanelis fro Mercury Publishing (a phoney company) knew anything about the business, he would have known this. After many changes, designing a Logo and doing not only the image AND the jacket (which would have cost over $1500 alone), Khanelis refused to pay Wes. Even the printer though Khanelis was totally inexperienced. What really bugs me is that this mAY ruin the reputation of a man who has worked over 25 years with NOT ONE COMPLAINT about either his work or his work ethics. Both Alexander KHanelis, AND Ripoff Report should be ashamed! When I asked them to retract  the so called report I heard nothing....this is so Wrong. You should be ashamede.

DISHONEST REPORT

I would like to set the record straight on this "questionable" Publisher. I was lead to believe that this was a "real" publishing company or otherwise I would not have gotten involved with them. I quoted them (Mercury Publishing House) $1500 for an illustration and the graphics for the wrap around jacket. I asked for $450 up front and received it. They made many changes to my original illustration after the sketch had been approved. Two and a half months later, and in excess of 50 changes, because they didn't know what they were doing with type, copy, logo, etc. and would not listen to any of my advice. I was out of pocket the cost to send printing files to the printer, and my inability to accept other projects because of the changes that were made. I informed them that there were such extensive changes and additional requests (ie logo design) that the original cost would have to be increased to include all of the ridiculous changes. At first they agreed to pay the difference but only when I had sent the files to the printer. After everything was at the printers they refused to pay the balance owing. So I am out of pocket $2,550.00 but I have learned my lesson. I will never work with a person like this again. I took Mercury Publishing House/Alexander Khanelis to collections, but they were unable to collect as they refused to pay. I just want to prevent this from happening to any other artist who may get involved with this bunch. Please beware of Mercury Publishing House Inc.
