I contacted Rainbow Moving and Storage through the internet, and ultimately engaged them to move my furniture from the west coast to the east coast. Allie Lock, who handled the arrangements for the move by telephone and email, assured me that everything on the inventory list I provided would be moved for the quote that she gave, regardless of space and weight.

On the day of the move, a van arrived and began loading. Only after several pieces of furniture were placed aboard the truck, did the driver provide me with paperwork bearing the name West East Vanlines, Inc. This was a complete surprise, as I had expected Rainbow Moving and Storage to be conducting the move.

In a telephone call to Allie Lock, my contact at Rainbow Moving and Storage, she said that Rainbow would take full reponsibility for the move, and not to be concerned about West East Vanlines being the carrier. What she failed to mention, was that Rainbow Moving and Storage was a dba used by West East Vanlines. This ommission I now attribute to the fact that West East Vanlines had several negative complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, whereas Rainbow had none, and was in fact a member of the BBB.

After approximately half of the items that I had listed to be moved were on the van, the driver told me that I was several hundred cubic feet over the estimate, and the per cubic foot charge for the additional space would be almost twice what I was paying for the estimated cubic feet. When I called Allie Lock to complain that this was not what she had told me, Lock was very rude, and screamed at me on the phone. I had the movers stop loading, and take what was already on the van.

The furniture was scheduled to be delivered one month later, but when the day came, there was no news from the company about delivery, and phone calls went unanswered. Finally, almost two weeks after the furniture was to be delivered, the van arrived and wanted to unload late at night, which I refused. The next day when the delivery was made, several pieces of furniture, all pieces that had been padded by the movers, were damaged, with many broken and missing pieces.

This company is not a moving company, but a scam operated by Adi Peretz. They give low estimates, to later be able to charge much more for what they claim is additional cubic feet. No paperwork is presented to the shipper until they have started loading, so the shipper cannot back out without paying ransom for the return of what has been placed into the truck.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
