West Gate Resort How can I cancel it? It is nothing like they said it would be. Kissimmee Florida
My husband and I bought a timesharing unit from Westgate Resorts in Orlando 17 days ago, on Dec 30th, and after realizing how bad the time sharing program is we decided to cancel it.
The promised getaway weeks with prices from $300, 00 to $500, 00 per week don't exist and apparently trying to exchange your week anywhere in the world is a nightmare.
I know we are not within the 10 days period given to cancel the agreement, but I really don't want to give this people more money.
I don't mind loosing the down payment; I just want to get rid of this contract!
Is there anything I can do to cancel it? It's been only 17 days..
Please give me a positive answer.
Thanks.

Hi Ms.Flavia,
I'm sorry you are having trouble with your bookings. I have been an employee and owner for 5 years, and I have been on several getaways from $149-$600, depending on size, season and location. Please check out your regular travel sites, like expedia, priceline, orbitz, and compare the identical resorts, and you will find that the getaway weeks cost 10-40% of the total costs. For example, a week in Paradise Island, in the Bahamas, is $299 by getaways, and $2300 by Expedia, at the identical resort. Check the site and see.
As for your week of exchanges, you first must deposit your week, and then exchange it.
Why don't you call Owner Relations at 1-800-925-9999, and they will help you. Good Luck
