Complaint Review: Westchester Park Apartment Residences

I lived in Westchester Park Apartment Residences from August 2007 to end of June 2008.  I found them quite old, poorly maintained and managed, and very expensive.  My rent for a luxury one-bedroom with detached garage was over $760.00 a month.  I now live in another apartment across town which is much less expensive, better managed, and much nicer.

WestchesterPark rules were seldom enforced.  I noticed a lot of smokers around the stairways, and constantly smelled cigarette smoke.  The chain-smokers were constantly dropping ashes on those below.  Maintenance often refused to repair the most basic of items, including plumbing and deadbolt locks.  The pool was often crowded, with noisy guests and other individuals in the pool after 10 PM.  Trash littered the grounds and pool area.  The gardeners seldom cleaned up grass after mowing.  Management would answer the phone but do little else to manage the property or respond to requests or complaints.  They seemed to be indifferent, even rude in response to my requests.

Near the end of my lease, I informed management of my intention to move.  Matt the manager said, no problem we can immediately re-rent it, and asked that I vacate by the end of June.  I did, and they kept my security deposit of $730.00, and added fees of $135.00 for early termination.  Managements blatant deceit and breach of good faith is now in the hands of our attorney.  I now refer to these apartments as Westchester Trailer-Trash Park.  Dont live there, or you will regret it.
