On June 5, I purchased a 2003 GMC Envoy XL and the "top level" extended mileage warranty through Western General called the MileagePlus warranty for over $1900. A week later I noticed a strange ticking sound that started to come from the engine compartment, I took the vehicle to the local GMC Dealer they told me it was the fan clutch motor and that a tension pulley needed replacing at a cost of $789.00, the dealer forwarded the invoice to Western General and my claim was promptly DECLINED, I contacted Western General and they reinforced their decision to decline the coverage and stated that if I do not promptly get the vehicle repaired and that if the engine fails at a later time it would also be declined and deemed my fault.

I let the GMC service department know that I would be responsible for the repair and the service manager was nice enough to warn me to check out www.ripoffreport.com and go back to the dealer I purchased it from and cancel it before its too late. I am on the way to do that now! If you have purchased an extended warranty from Western General, your best bet is to CANCEL IT PROMPTLY AND GET A REFUND!
