If you plan on vacationing in Branson, MO, stay away from Westagate Resorts! I called about a "good deal" I saw on the internet for three days and four nights. Westgate Resorts answered the phone and said that I could have the deal if I'd sit through a 90 minute presentation.

We went to a timeshare presentation last year in Dallas and know that it's not for us. The lady on the phone said to tell them up front at the presentation that you are only there because you have to be and that you know you are not interested and they will let you go after the 90 minutes, no pressure, no commitments.

She also stated that we could stay at the resort instead of the property I had called about for the same price, "the resort should be nicer" was my thought, so I took her up on it.

When we arrived in Branson, we had to check in at a "Welcome Center" on the strip (30 minutes), then go to the resort and check in there (30 minutes). The next morning we had to show up for our mandatory 90 minute presentation (3 hours).

We told Sue Jones right up front that we had no intention on purchasing right now, we were only there because we had to be, and we had things to do and see. She evidently took this as a challenge to sell us.

When she couldn't get anywhere with us, her manager came over, once he saw that we were standing firm, they sent over a lady from "corporate". We still re-buffed all of their offers and they all immediately turned rude to us. They were cold and snippy. It took everything I had to keep my cool. They were told from the get go that we weren't buying.

On to the accommodations: The building they decided to house us in was old and run down. I wish we had stayed in the original place I had called about.

First they checked us into a dirty room. That was gross! Then the building had a dirt dauber problem, they were swarming everywhere. When we asked for a wake-up call, we were told to do it ourselves on the phone, no instructions, etc. The wake-up call didn't work. There was no hot water on the last day we stayed. We had asked about staying another night and was told that there were no availabilities, even though the building next to us was completely empty. When we were gathering up our stuff to check out we noticed a leak coming from the room next door, soaking our carpet and personal belongings. When I let them know, they couldn't have cared less. There was no "Thanks for staying with us" or anything like that.

Bottom line - Don't waste your time with Westgate Resorts. They don't care about you. Looking at the other complaints here, even their owners are regretting it!
