If you have missed the cancellation period for your timeshare contract, there may still be a way out. Look at the contract that was given to you when you signed. Was it notarized by a notary public in your presence? Notarization will be a stamp on the signature page of the deed. If it was not notarized in your presence, request a set of documents to be sent to you by Westgate. If the set you received is notarized on the copy they send you then you may have a case.

It is illegal in the state of Florida for signatures to be notarized after the fact or not in the presence of the signatories. (You).

I also experienced all of the frustrations that everyone else on this site did. I was able to get a full refund of my downpayment and all monies paid subseqently when I reported to the Florida Notary Association that my contract was in my opinion void as a result of Westgate staff notarizing the deed after we had left and not in our presence.

Total cost to kill the thing: $30.00 for courier charges of documents back and forth to Westgate and the Florida Notary Association.
