Westin Southfield Detroit Absolute Ripoff! Charged my card 4 times for $189.00. You are Advised Not To Stay!!!! Southfield Michigan
I decided to take a nice getaway for the night and go to the Westin in Southfield. This was the nearest one to me and when I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton Suites in PA, I absolutley loved the bed. It was very comfortable, the best sleep I ever got. So come to checkout time, my card came up denied. I told the lady at the front desk that it can'y be right, and that it was a debit card. She said, " Sorry mam, but that is what it shows".
So I then walk down to the ATM which was located at the other end of the hotel and tried to get money out but that said Insufficant Funds. At this point I was Pissed Off. I had just deposited a check and there was no way in hell I had a negative on my account. I called the bank and hey said, " you have 4 transactions for $189.00 for The Westin Southfield Detroit ". From this point I then walked back to the front desk and was ready to strangle someone. I asked to speak to a manager and apparently the woman I was dealing with the whole time was the manager.
Come to find out when I had called to reserve the room, they ask for your card, well she charged my card then and also when I checked in and swiped it twice at checkout. Wonderful isn't it! I contacted the director of the hotel, no answer there, Corporate Headquaters and no answer there! Finally, I said screw it and wanted to talk to person on the top of the chain responsible for everything, And then I finally got an answer, but in the mean time I have 4 checks bounce and had to pay a Insufficant Fees charge at $33.00 each.
They had finally returned the money after a week but did not reinburse me for the charges I got from the bank, which I thought they should have. But Oh, this is great part, They Still Wanted Me To Pay For The One Night Stay! You can guess what I told them to do with that bill? I never did recieve a bill!
My advice is; If you do stay here at least pay cash, and check your account if you decide to eat breakfeast there, I got charged for that too and mine was supposed to be included.
