Upon attending a seminar promoting courses it became aware to me later that they were a rip-off. Immediately I phoned Westpac to cancel my credit card. The supervisor, Diane told me she had NOW done that - issued a reference number, L16233 & told me a new card would arrive in 3-4 days.

More than 24 hours later I checked my account & a charge of $822.14 was showing. This time, approx. 10pm AEST 22Aug06 Tel 1300651089 I was sent to the manager - John in Fraud Dept.He told me the card had " NOT been cancelled" & he proceeded to do that. I held on for another 20 minutes requesting some sort of reference number. He refused yet he had all my details(name, address,phone number,DOB) - all he gave was a new M/C number & told me to phone back tomorrow.

This morning I phoned 1800800388 & Cynthia reported back that there is NO-ONE in card cancellations called Diane and there is NO JOHN in w/pac Fraud dept. There was no record of me requesting cancellation of the card and she THREATENED to cut me off as I told her that no one was acting responsibly within W/pac.

2005 I had a similar experience where this time an ex-W/pac bank manager used my card for $11,100 with no service, no product nor tax invoice provided.
Having been a w/pac customer for 20 years, it is unbelievable that their staff response is :"I don't know" and we don't do anything responsible.
