Westside tire is under unprofessional management. They put bad valve stems on my tires, but refused to replace my bad tire. My tires were only a year old, but kept going flat. I bought a brand new set from them. I spent about $700.

On Christmas Eve I was driving to Illinois. My tires kept on going flat, but all the tire places were closed. We had to keep putting air in all the tires. Unfortunately, one of the tires was bad, and we had to put on a spare.

I took the car to Wal-Mart the day after Christmas. I thought there were punctures or cuts. The guys at Wal-Mart found that there were no punctures in the tires. The real problem was bad valve stems. They replaced the valve stems on the three remaining tires. I took the bad tire to Westside tire when I got back to Abilene. I told them about the valve stems. I was told that "valve stems just go bad." But after a year though? I had my old tires for 4 years, and I never had to get new valve stems.

I called other tire places in town, and that all told me that valve stems should be good for the life of your tires. I told the Westside tires that, but the manager told me that it was too bad. He said that he does not believe that it was the valve stems. I showed the receipt from Wal-Mart, and the guy just said, " I don't believe Wal-Mart." He said that Wal-Mart could have done something else to my tires to fix the problem and only charged me for the valve stems! He was ridiculous.

I ended up having to pay fpr a new tire, but that would definitely be the last time I buy from them. My advice is, always work with corporate owned business. This guy was rude and outrageous because he knew there was not much I chould do to him.

Owner resolved the issue

I wrote a letter to the BBB of Abilene. The owner of the business gave me a partial refund for the new tire. He said that he would have a talk with the manager. He said that even though the guy he hired as a manager may have some attitude he does good work for him and has been there for 10 years.

I advised the owner that when he chose to have a man such as this guy "Bill" representing his business he can expect a letter like the one I wrote to the BBB. Everyone else at Westside Tire was pretty nice to me.

I guess this guy Bill thought that since he was a manager he had a final say, and since I am an Asian girl he could treat me however he darn well pleased. The owner asked that I continue doing business with him at another location.
