I recently purchased a 2003 Ford Taurus from Westway Ford. The car sales price was $13,000. I paid them $6000 down and financed the remainder. When I received the coupon for my first payment, the loan was for $12,000. I complained to Westway and their insulting arrogant approach was to say that I had authorized GAP and other insurances that I did not need to the tune of $4,000.

I cancelled these and found later that the same items from another more reputable Ford Dealership cost only $1500.00.

Additionally a check through CarFAX indicated that the car was a recycled 2003 from a rental car agency which was not disclosed at the time of sale. The car has since in the past 3 months of a 3 month ownership been in the shop at a different Ford Dealer for repair of a mal-functioningn computer which shuts the car down regardless of what is happening without warning. A clear safety problem.

I am informed that Ford routed the alternator through the computer and it automatically sets the car for long idle and shuts down the alternator. Then at some point the battery drains and the abs failure shuts the engine down. At that point you have no electronics at all. Very very dangerous.
