BOYCOTT WHEREHOUSE MUSIC!!!
both the internet store AND your local stores!!
Wherehouse Music has implemented a new check acceptance policy. Seems they only allow customers to write a check to them once every 72 hours!! And the corporate office states this is NOT because they are worried about bad checks!! Yet, they cannot state WHY this policy is in place!
And when you visit the store, most clerks do not know about the policy, because it is not posted anywhere! Even the manager of my local store was not clear whether the policy was Wherehouse Music policy, or if it was the check processing company policy!
IF THEY DON'T WANT MY BUSINESS WHEN I WANT TO BUY, THEN I WON'T BUY!!
I encourage you to do the same!

Dearest Jennifer,
welcome to the 20th Century! Many places (including GOODWILL stores) accept checks, and have them electronically debited from the writers account IMMEDIATELY! It makes perfect business sense and while it may cost a couple dollars more for the company, it will cost much less than the cost for returned checks weeks later!
I am a business and I gladly accept checks and in my 4 years in business, I have had ONE bad check. When I contacted the writer, they were quick to make restitution. In the same 4 years I have had ONE bad credit card! So, one is no safer than the other.
BTW, my bank only charges me the merchant $3.00 for a returned item, while most businesses will charge between $20.00 and $40.00 or MORE to the person who wrote the bad check!!
Finally, in dealing with HIPAA changes for insurance, I am SICK AND TIRED of having to change all the rules for the FEW people who can't live their life properly. Just because a couple IDIOTS write bad checks, all those of us who are HONEST have to pay for it. Just because a few people don't want their spouses knowing what medical procedures they are having done, we have to change the ENTIRE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM!! (and you wonder why insurance costs so much??!!)
So I will continue to boycott Wherehouse music as long as they treat all check-writers like CROOKS!

For whatever reason, this company will not approve more than one check in 72 hours. So what?!? Use cash, credit cards or buy everything in one purchase. Don't whine about it like a little baby. No, not all employees know about this policy. That's because, surprise surprise, we don't have many people in this situation. If there were other people, they paid in cash or with a credit card, they didn't complain about it.
If you want to complain, try yelling at all the people who write bad checks and make check verification necessary.
