Maytag is selling KNOWN defective products to consumers. I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer Model - MGDB800VQ, Serial - M03401866. This unit is no longer working after 18 months of service. I have a small family of 2 and the volume of laundry is small. My unit is NOT drying clothes and stopped in the middle of usage on 1/26/13. I have since then tried to resolve the issues, check the exhaust and cleaned the duct of any lint or debris. However, there is no air circulation coming from the dryer itself. After doing some research I have thus learned that there are several complaints on this issue relating to the blower wheel pulley coming loose from the blower shaft. Maytag is aware of this issue as they have issued a technical service pointer instructing service how to repair. However selling known defective products is unethical, irresponsible and not good business practice. I made two attempts to contact Maytag and I was informed that a service pointer is not a recall and if my dryer was not a recall then Maytag could not help me. Maytag is knowingly selling defective products and is NOT making provisions to resolve.
