Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loading Washer experiences a violent unbalanced condition even when the tub is empty. This is caused by a solution that is injected into the tub at the factory to allegedly help an unbalanced condition; but now it's causing problems. A call was made to Whirlpool to obtain a replacement, but they wanted to charge for it. Subsequently, pilot holes were drilled into the bottom of the tub to remove the solution and sealed with silicone. Having done this, the unbalanced problem has completely disappeared. Apparently Whirlpool is now hiring so-called engineers with no formal education. When the machine becomes unbalanced with no clothes in the tub and no damage has been done to the tub, then this is a Engineering Screw-up and the customer should not have to shoulder any responsibility whatsoever. Previously top loading washers were dynamically balanced and as such had no need for a liquid solution to be injected into the tub to help with balancing problems. Is Whirlpool deliberately manufacturing machines to screw-up so the customer will have to pay for repairs? We'll never know. I'll never buy a Whirlpool product. Run away from Whirlpool... NO GOOD!
