Whirlpool was notified that a Central Air conditioning unit caught fire and was distroyed. The unit was less than 3 years old and due to a lack of paperwork the warrenty was not honored. This was understandable. The unit did not catch fire from lightening or power surge. It has been reported to the government agencies that handle problems such as this. The whirlpool corp., the distrubutor, and the installers have all refused to produce paperwork so this unit can be identified and have said that they distroyed the unit and therefore it cannot be Traced. Should this unit still be in use by other homeowners there is a risk it could catch fire and burn down the home it is installed in resulting in the deaths of the occupants.
