whirlpool Frig has no drain tray!!! Internet
Isn't this beautiful??!!! 1 day or 3 days after or even 1 use, this is what I get with my brand new Whirpool frig. what idiot would design a frig with NO drainage, black plastic and can't be cleaned. the residue is still there even after cleaning. Whirpool REFUSED to exchange the frig. I will be posting on anything I can think of to let people know not only are they stupid in creating something like this but unwilling to exchange it. They have frigerators that don't do this but unfortunately, no one said anything at the store. Also things to point out would be you can't put any MAGNETs on the frig as they leave a mark. The tray is so narrow that a simple bottle sometimes spills down the bottom section of the frig

I agree with Ken.i have a whirlpool fridge now and i never usually have alot of overflow enough to worry about..who would have that much overflow as to even need a drain? Are kids pushing the water on and making a mess maybe?sounds like somebody is making a mess or not paying attention when filling a glass or whatever.

of course i thought it through!! jeseezus!!! i had a white ge frig wiih a drain tray and the water collected under the grid. it wasn't much but at least not as unsightly right away as this is and had time to dissapate. as mentioned, this black and with no drain tray making it worse. it's a horrible design and can't be fixed. i don't nee a drain to the floor, thank you. in addition to the other issues mentioned, the was the icing on the cake.
since i'll have this for 20+ yrs, it's irritating. also, fyi...everyone except you (they were women so perhaps they actually understood what I was talking about) i mentioned this to, agreed with me.

We have had 3 different refrigerators over the years and none of them had a tray that drained somewhere. I won't say none have it because I haven't seen every refrigerator made, but it's pretty common that they don't. They even mention it in the owners manual.

I have a Whirlpool fridge also, with the ice/water dispenser. It has the same plastic tray, except mine is white. It will also accumulate hard mineral buildup from the water and is cleanable by soaking it in an orange or lemon cleaner. Something like CLR might also work, but haven't tried that.
Why would you want a drain under the dispensers? Where would the water go? Guess you could drill a hole in the floor and run a tube to a drain in the basement or get a pump and some tubing and run the water to the sink drain. Get over it...NO ripoff here. Have you even thought this through?
