WHIRLPOOL Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Falling Apart Benton Harbor, Michigan
I bought this machine 2.5 years ago and paid almost $1000 for it. It's now literally falling apart.
Consumer Reports and other reviews gave it high marks. (Should have read reports by owners instead.)
Started leaking and making loud roaring noise during spin. Found black grease spot and metal shavings under washer. Looked online and saw hundreds of angry Whirlpool Cabrio owners with same problem. The cheap bearings fail and the machine begins to self destruct. Contacted Whirlpool and they wanted to send a certified technician at my cost. All parts and repair would also be at my cost. Spoke with a Whirlpool supervisor to ask for some help in sharing cost of repair. I even took the phone to the washer so they could hear the incredibly loud noise.
Whirlpool will not stand behind this obvious lemon or help the customer despite the hundreds of reports to them regarding the bearing failure. So now we are faced with investing another $650 for the repair, and still have the same bearing breakdown occur two years down the road, or buy a new washer.
Shame on you Whirlpool.
