Whitten Brothers Of Ashland Whitten Bros. of Ashland are lying theveing crooks. The way they treat their customers is down right disrespectful! Ashland Virginia
During the week of july 4th 2008 i took my truck to their shop in ashland to have my transmission serviced. The problem that i was having felt like the transmission would slip in third and fourth gear. They called me the next day with the news that they felt a tourque converter shudder. They queted me a price and i told them to procced w/ the repair. They explained to me that if the technician pulled the pan and saw metal in the pan they would stop. The service writer called me an hour later to state that i needed to replace the entire transmission. After a couple of days they called me and said that truck was ready. When i picked the truck up i hadnt even made it a mile from the shop and the same reoccuring problem happened again.
I took the truck back to the shop and they performed other test like discontecting the altenator. I had made the comment that could my problem have been electrical all along. They replied no that the truck had a slipping transmission. When i left the truck drove fime for a couple of days untill the problem came back again. I then took the truck to them and stated that I was still having the same problem. THe service manager took the truck for a road test and stated that he never felt a problem. I picked the truck up one more time having the same problem occur again. I then took the truck back in and they left it sitting overnight. They called me the next morning stateing that my truck would not start and that i neede two new batteries( my truck is a 2500 w/ a cummins motor). After discusing w/ the manager that my batteries have never given me trouble and that now they are having problems w/ them. I asked the manager how much it would cost me and he said that it would be cheaper if i put them in. At this point i told them not to mess w/ my truck and i would pick it up the following morning when i got off work. The following day after putting new batteries in the truck i was still having problems.
At this point i had gone to the general manager with the same issues. I had been in and out several times since then for the same problem. ONe of the technicians stated that he has delt w/ this issue before and he stated that it was an electrical problem. HE stated that by disconecting the altneator and replacing the batteries we eleminated the problem. At that point i had the tech and the service manager in my truck and they both experenced the same problem. After still having problems i had found a transmission bolt that had backed out. I also had them look at the shifting issue again and they found nothing. I went to the general manager and said that i was extremley unhappy with the repair and asked to have my money returned to me. They stated that they would not and that asfar as they where concerned my truck was fixed and there is nothing else they can do. I had gone back the last time to talk this issue out again anfd the same response. At this time i stated that my truck did not need a transmission and Bobby Whiten(owner) stepped in. He stated that he knew everything about the truck and stated that i was calling him a liar. We then began to get into an escilated argument about the truck. After arguing w/ him and his stateing to me that i was an ignorant dumb a*s redneck this is when i relized that this issue had gone on farther.
After this last ordeal i relized that Whitten brothers of Ashland are lieing theving crooks. I will never once do business w/ them again! This issues is not resolved and I will carry this further. I would never recommend this business to anyone unless they wanted to deal w/ a bunch of stealing crooks!
