Whole foods market meat department is a scam. Let's start with the "Organic meats" not always organic specially the chicken and pork since the customer can't tell the difference they sell natural product as organic. Don't believe the product is fresh. If you ask an employee when did it come in, their answer is always going to be yesterday or early this morning. Product sits in their cooler for days! Some times even weeks! Sometimes they freeze the product before it goes bad and defrost it when they need it.

Ground beef is nothing but trim from all different types of cuts and sits in the cooler for days before it's even grounded, so dont believe when they say it's ground sirloin or ground chuck. And to top it they don't even test the fat content so you really don't know if it's really 10% or 22%. Ovenready or marinaded meats is nothing but old product. That's why they marinade it. This is coming from a whole foods employee that's been working for whole foods for 8 years in Los Angeles. If this is going on in the busiest stores imagine the smaller non busy stores?

Meat Quality

If you have ANY doubt or question about the organic quality of their meat or produce or anything in the store, go the customer service booth and ask for a "Organic Integrity" form. You just put your name and other info, the product in question and they will look into it and find out what they can do to fix the problem.
