i purchased gold for an online game (runescape) for my sons each purchase was for 4.72 ( not a lot i know but its the principle now ) on the 30-10-07 , after a couple of days of not getting an email or being contacted by the company i sent them an email asking about it , i recived an email from is sister site www.rsgold.com saying that the site i purchased from was out of stock despite taking my money . and i could purchase it from the site now and that i had been refunded in full.
i waited a few days and still not recieving any rerfund or any gold i again contacted the site and got nothing back from them .
so i contacted pay pal the site that handelled the payment and was told that i could open a dispute , i opened a dispute with the site for not hetting somthing i had paid for , all the time still trying to contact the site for an update on the refund or my purchase , eventually i made contact via there online help and was told that if i cancell the dispute with them made via pay pal i could have a refund or the goods purchaed , i cancelled the dispute as soon as they asked and was then told to wait 24 hrs for the cancellation to appear on ther records
i did this and then contacted the site again asking what to do next , i was told to log into the online game and go to a certain room where i would be met bny a member of there playing community that would give me the gold . the player turned up and was about to give me the gold then all of a sudden stopped. telling me to contact the site i made the purchase through . i contacted the site and was told taht there was a problem with my order and i would recieve a refund . i stated to them that i was not happy as my kids thought they were getting there gold , well taht was over a week ago now and i srtill have no refund or any gold
the number taht the site gives for you to call is just a answer phone and there online help is next to usless all they keep saying is please wait ( thats whne they bother to say anything ) i have emailed the site everyday asking for updates and so far not had any answers
today i spent 3 hrs trying to talk to them on web based live support and they said meet us in game and they would give the gold , low and behold i go to the game and get a message saying sorry you cant have the gold again and that i would get a refund ,
i have now been told 4 times that i would recieve a refund within 24 hrs and the first time of rtelling me this was over 3 weeks ago
this is appaling customer service and surley if our kids are playing these games and want to make a purchase of extra gold etc then they should be able to do so in confidence after all i'm 35 and i cant get any joy so what chance does a 12 yr old have
