Judie at Wild Wind Kennels has very poor customer service skills. My husband and I recently emailed her (about a month or so ago) about seeing if she had a standard schnauzer or knew of anyone who had. She emailed us back saying she had an approximately one year old schnauzer that was supposed to be a miniature but turned out it was too big for her to breed. We emailed her right back saying we would like more information and pictures.

She emailed a day later giving very limited information, just that he was approximately one year old (said she would have to check his papers) and that he was papered. We emailed again with questions and to see if she could email us pictures. Needless to say in a three week period it took two weeks to get pictures and more information. We are from Fargo ND and we wanted as much information as we could before making a 5 hour trip to go meet the dog and purchase him.

We also wanted to get him fixed up there as our vet required any dog to have their rabies vaccination 30 days prior to being fixed. We were told by Judie that the dog was up to date on all shots except the rabies, she said her vet could have him fixed. We emailed and called about details on when we could have him fixed as we were planning on coming up either that coming Saturday or the following Saturday to purchase him. She NEVER gave us an answer, she skirted the issue. We emailed again saying we would like to come up there to meet him, she never answered any emails that Thursday.

I finally gave up and said we found someone else to go with for a dog, which was closer and a more expensive dog than what she was offering us to pay for. She replied back saying their email was down and that they would not neuter a dog without paying for it first and that a neutered dog isn't worth anything to them.

First off she told us he was too big for her breeding program! Why wouldn't you want to neuter him if he was too big for your breeding program in the first place? Secondly, everyone else we contacted was extremely informative on all their dogs and all information pertaining to shots, registration, age, and even when we could see them and the day they would be fixed, even emailing us the same day with all information.

Thirdly, any breeder that has a potential customer should treat that customer curtiously and be up front immediately with all information, if they don't want to fix the dog until payment is in hand they need to inform them up front instead of skirting the issue. Also from reading other reports about her being in court, she did lie on her rebuttle, she was in court for uncleanliness and was fined for it, the link is: www.animallaw.info/cases/causfd57agdec1072.htm

My husband and I felt that Judie was very unprofessional, we gave her three weeks of our time in getting information to us. From reading previous rebuttles and issues I feel that they either need less dogs or more workers to be able to handle the issues and customer service stuff. Those poor dogs aren't being treated fairly when there are only four people working there to handle them, it's tough handling three dogs for one person to socialize and train let alone all the ones they have! I say stay away from all kennels that have more than two types of dogs to breed and stick with reputable breeders that can get all information to you within a timely manner and are willing to work with you to get the dog that is perfect for your family.

Wild Wind Kennel has Great Customer Support and Service

I have since been in discussions with Wild Wind Kennels. I do not know the current condition of employees, staffing levels, number of animals, nor types of animals, other than what is posted on their website and other documentation on the internet. I did not intend to mislead anyone. I have no supporting information on any issues with their establishment. After discussing with the owners of Wild Wind Kennels, I have realized that there were a lot of miscommunications and misunderstandings in how I was interpreting their emails and communications. I also did not fully realize that their electronic communications were down for an entire day. They told me it was or had been, but I did not realize that was the only way they had my phone number stored. I did not intend any harm, and they have been very great to work with in resolving the communications issues that we had originally. I apologized to both the owners and the general public if my post said anything to deter you from working with them. As, they have been very pleasant to work with once we figured out all of our misunderstandings. Although I didn't purchase my dog from them, knowing now how they've treated me, I wish I would have worked with them further to purchase the original dog I wanted. I think it could have been a better choice, but I was too impatient to wait to meet the dog in person that I had selected. I hope anyone that sees this will give Wild Wind Kennels a chance as I definately feel they have exceeded my expectations in going the extra length to resolve these communications issues. I am editing this because even though I still feel the way I do about Wild Wind Kennels, I have realized that I did this totally out of anger (in which I am still angry about), but it's in the past and over and done with, we now have an adorable 16 week puppy in which we feel was the best dog for us now. We do apologize to Judie, no one knows all the facts about the APHIS case but those involved. Regardless of what happened if there is anyone that truly has issues with her they need to contact her or go through the Better Business Bureau.
