Complaint Review: Wilhelmina Scouting Network

Posted my resume on Monster.com, and received a notice from Wilhelmina Scouting Network requesting an interview.
I attended the "interview" with 30 other individuals that where there becuase they also had received a interview request. The "interview" lasted from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm! We where given a booklet explaining the company and shown a short promotional film.

Before we where excused for the day. we had a short q & a session regarding compensation...THIS IS THE WORST PART.
As a scout for Wilhelmina, your job is to recruite talent. IN REALITY you must get people to "show" for Wilhelminas "open call" or you do not get paid!
Here is their compensation schedule:
1-25 shows $10 per show
26-50 shows $15 per show
51+ $20 per show...this means you must bring people and have them pass the evaluation or YOU DO NOT GET PAID.

To qualify for a weekly "base" pay, you must maintain 5 enrollments per week. 5 enrollments = $5000.00 to Wilhelmina, you get $600. If you do not make your enrollments. YOU DO NOT GET PAID.

You are required to use your own personal cell phone, as a way for your "talent" to reach you. There is no transportation allowance nor travel expenses.Here is the real kicker, you are considered an independant contractor not an employee!?!? you are responsible for paying your own payroll tax!

These people DO NOT CARE if you scout someone with talent or not. They are only interested in getting people to enroll and getting their $1000.00. If you have an ounce of dignity, you will feel guilty about "scouting" a person, lying to them, making them feel they might have a chance in the modeling industry, just so they will show for an appointment so you can earn your $10.00.

Is $10.00 really worth humiliating another human being?
