Complaint Review: William Meeks Jr.

William Meeks was contrated to pour a new patio for me.The amount agreed upon was $3500.

William Meeks came to my house on Saturday, August 16th to pick up a check and begin the construction on Monday the 18th.

I gave William Meeks a check for $2500 and $1000 in cash. William Meeks provided me with receipts for the payments.

Red flags immediately started showing up.

William Meeks had mentioned several times he was going to retire soon. He said he had $2 million in the bank and wanted to retire soon.

I got a phone call from WIlliam Meeks on Sunday, August 17th. William Meeks advised me that I would be getting a call from one of those "strip mall, store front, check cashing places."

This was a huge red flag. I was surprised that any businessman would pay a 5% fee to cash a check on a Sunday, when he could simply depsoit it for free on Monday.

More red flags.

William Meeks told me that the job would start on Monday the 18th and be completed by Wednesday the 20th.

William Meeks called me on Monday the 18th to tell me that they would not start until Friday the 22nd. He also said he would still send a crew out to do some prep work.

No one ever showed up. On any of the days promised. Ever.

On Friday the 22nd I got a text message from William Meeks. He claimed he had been in a fight with an ex-wife and she threw acid on his face and eyes.

WIlliam Meeks gave more promises of when his "crew" would show up. They never came.

This was a month ago.

William Meeks will not take or return phone calls. He will not return the money he stole from my family. I had also leased a rental property to William Meeks. He defaulted on the lease. He owes back rent and other fee's for the default.

William Meeks has at least one EVICTION in Texas. It appears he may have used an alias and actually has more.

William Meeks has responded to text messages. He has promised countless times to return my money he stole from me. They have all been lies. I call and text every day to tell him to return my money. I have never threatened him, called him names, or yelled at him.

I have simply called to get mey money back.

William Meeks has threatened, insulted, and called names. He has played the "race card" several times.
Public records provide the following identification for William Meeks Jr.

He is a 47 year old black male. Shaved head. 5'8" tall. 210 pounds.

He drives a silver Hummer and claims to have a new Corvette.

I have filed poilice reports with the city and county.
