Williams Chevrolet used cars Traverse city they sold a used truck broke down under 30 days. said because it was no warr. but bought warr. didnt cover Traverse City Mich, Michigan
I bought a 2007 chevy used truck from Williams at traverse City Mich 2600 US31 south. It stated no warrenty. But within under 30 days the water pump broke plus the U joint in front shaft is breaking and it needs 4x4 service. I took it back thinking they would fix the problem. Fisrt they said no, then I went up there and they said it would cost over 400.00 to fix just the water pump. It took over a week of calling and calling to get them to fix my water pump. They fineally fixed the water pump for 100.00 dollars. But they would not fix the front drive shaft or the 4x4 service which well cost well over 400.00. I understand that it was no warrenty but it was under 30 days. Williams should of made sure before they sold this truck that it was user ready. I don't make much money and am struggling paying my bills as it is. This is the first time in over 8 years I got a new vehicele. deb Elberta Mich

..don't get me wrong, I am not defending the dealership here as I know most of these dealers are ...well it would be censored here.
But you have to be realistic. This vehicle is 4 years old..and the mileage was not even listed in the report...only that it had no warranty and you were aware of this.
Now in all honesty, I could easily snap the drive shaft of a 4 year old Chevy truck by being a little abusive on it. Not saying you or anyone was abusive on it...but how can you possibly prove in any way shape or form, that this dealership could have known the U joint would need service in 30 days..or 30 minutes for that matter?
They took 300 dollars off the water pump repair which was something they did not have to do. When you buy a used vehicle with no warranty, you need to be prepared to pay for things that may wear out or break. It is a Chevy as well..expect many many many many more repairs to be needed in the future. The engines granted are really good..with proper maintenance (although we do not know the mileage or maintenance records of your truck) can last a really long time..but everything else will fail eventually.
I understand you are struggling to pay your bills...lots of people are. So they don't buy a 2007 Chevy truck..they buy a Kia with a 10 year, 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Unless you can do all your own mechanical work...it is potentially an expensive proposition to by a used Chevy truck.
