Wilmington Finance should be sued, fined and closed.
We were solicited by Wilmington Finance when we first started to look for homes in New Hampshire. We were pre-approved and and offer was accepted. We stayed in contact with our sales rep asking if they had all the information needed, and were assured that we were "all set", and our rate would be about what was originally set and closing would happen on 2/28/2007.
White envelopes arrived almost every day stating the "terms" of our mortgage, some were for 1/3 of the mortgage amount others for 3 times the amount. We were told that underwriting was just "clueless" and our rep would again give us verbal terms. Then on the Monday before closing the real horror show began.
- Monday- They would need $27,000 additional dollars to secure our mortgage and we would be buying points in the amount of $4, 895 as well as paying closing costs
- Tuesday- we were "all set" but they needed more documents
- Wednesday- they got the documents and would we like to finance 104% of our mortgage...we said no
- Closing day- Our sales rep actually told us that the company was screwing with us and that they were no longer interested in financing new mortgages. She said she had given our file to her boyfriend at Indymac Bank and he would give us a mortgage but the rate would be 9.87%
We were horrified...the behavior of this financing company is CRIMINAL...they should be put out of BUSINESS...they turn the prospect of buying a home into a heart breaking experience.
To pre-empt Mindy's lame rebuttal.
Your attitude sucks and if you think people should be treated this way then may you have a miserable life. We are just families trying to buy homes for our children. so do not try to justify your evil ways.
