I foolishly borrowed money against my car when I lost my job and found myself in a desperate financial situation. WCC was recommended as a company that would loan me the money.

WCC has been harassing me with phone calls regarding 'late fees' that do not exist. I have paid my bills on time for the previous three months. I received a bill for the current month that included a late fee that was incorrect. I spoke to a rep when I paid my current bill. I asked her why the late fee was included. The conversation went around in circles for a few minutes about whether or not I owed it, I didn't owe it.....etc. etc. She finally took the time to look at my records and admitted that the rep who took my previous payment 'keyed it in wrong'. She said she would report it to 'accounting department'. I assumed that would be the end of this particular issue.

Eight days later I began getting phone calls regarding the 'late fee'. I tried to explain to the new rep that it was a mistake and had been referred to the 'accounting dept.'. The rep barely spoke English. When I tried AGAIN to explain the situation he made incomprehensible statements that made no sense regarding a late fee being charged on the late charge that in fact was a mistake. This 'conversation' went around and around until I finally lost my temper and hung up.

I was late on my payment three months previous. I made up both payments and the late fee. My contract (which they are apparently totally unaware of) states that I have a 30 day grace period before they start with their harassment.

And then the threats of towing my car begin after approx. being late for 15 days. The tow company calls and says they are coming to tow my car and are stupid enough to ask where it is. Of course this panicked me and I gave in to the threat and made the payment immediately, leaving me with no money for the remainder of the month.

I plan on filing a complaint with the Dept. of Consumer Affairs in Texas, where I reside. I will also file a complaint with whatever agency exists in California for the same problems. I will also file a complaint with the FTC. I will take them to small claims court in Texas and record all phone conversations.

All of this will take an incredible amount of time and cost more than a little money. I have done this before with Capital One and won a favorable judgement after being cheated by them. I may or may not ever get my car back but I will not go down without a fight and no small amount of time wasted on their part in fighting me.

It amazes me that companies like WCC are allowed to remain in business. They are a testament to predatory lending that I had hoped the Obama administration would clamp down on but I guess that was wishful thinking on my part.

Sell your first born child or yourself on the street before taking a penny from these parasites.
