I had notified Wilshire of my intention to Payoff my loan and need a payoff figure good until Oct 19th. I informed them I would be paying my loan off on the 15th of Oct. I did have a prepayment pentaly on this loan but it was to fall off on the 13th of Oct. After making several phone call to get a faxed copy of my payoff I was shocked to see the prepayment penalty was still there. I was advised by customer service that I still needed to send this and when they recieved my payoff they would issue a refund is necessary. I told her that was absord. I would not be paying the penalty. I also requested they give me an accurate payoff statement so I could give to me new m,ortgage holder. I was then advised that I need to send a fax to Payoff rush department and they would contact me from there. I have done everything that they have requested me to do. I still do not have a revised payoff statement listing the correct charges. I do not understand why they will not waived the prepayment penalty at all. The customer service department is a joke. I will never do business with this company again and I will sure get this word out to many people that I know. I am not sure who this is going to be resolved until I actually get my loan out of this company.

You will be ignored unless you send certified mail

Read the fine print in the contract they will continue to give you the run around until you have sent them any request certified mail.

They tried that BS on me as well

still having problems getting my payoff

I am still having problems getting my payoff from Wilshire. I have requested a rush payoff statement to be faxed to meafter the prepayment date expired on the 13th. I am still waiting on this and getting a run around. I have had to postpone my new cosing date because of them. I will never do business with this place again. What is it going to take to get a true payoff figure from them.

Oder your Payoff Demand AFTER the PPP has run its course

#5Consumer Suggestion

The previous poster is correct. As long as the PPP is still valid, they must quote it that way. Your new mortgage company can work around this particular issue until the last week or so before closing.

This is not a big deal, just wait to order the demand until 1 day after the penalty expires.

prepayment penalties

I know nothing about this company. However, I use to work for a mortgage company and as long as the prepayment penalty is ineffect the day the payoff is quoted there must be a penalty added. To get a payoff without a penalty you would need to wait until the 13th. Atleast that is how our company was ran.
