He had a horrible temper, and assulted neighbors, his family and anyone that questioned his conduct.

Jamie was nice to deal with if you didn't have any problems with the dog or questioned him on his past. He was a smooth talker and good at selling the large number of puppies.

Here is some proof behind this kennel that Jamie tried to hide but slandering other people breeder and threatening so many to keep quiet.

I think whoever is writing this only has one thing on their minds... SLANDER!!!

People aren't that dumb! If someone is looking for a specific breed of dog, they will do the research and decide on their own if the breeder is reputable or not then to trust an "amonymous" poster on this site.

I have a wonderful 4 year old  Winsome Golden Doodle that gives my family nothing but joy and love. We did our homework and got a great, LOW shedding dog. That's not to say that his brother who our friends got is the same. They are totally different. Temperment and coat/shedding. We knew it was a chance as they are F1. So I wonder how knowledgable this person is on the breed. NO breed is true NO SHED!!

To the anonymous poster, you have serious issues when you have to slander and judge another person to make yourself feel better. Hopefully one day when you are in FRONT of a judge, they  show you the same mercy as you have on others!!

We bought a puppy from Winsome Kennels and found the process easy and professional. Our dog is the love of our life and he has a great temperment and personality. The only issue we have had is extreme allergies with our dog. . I have heard that the mixed breed may be the issue but am not sure. We have spent a little short of $1000 on vet bills with no fix so far. I think Winsome kennels cared for the dogs well from pups. My only concern on the site was two many adult dogs locked in cages. I am not sure why they are not sold or put in "foster homes"  

Also no papers for shots  or health testing were ever provided for out dog. Jamie said to visit his vet in Surrey to get a copy. (seems a little strange)

Winsome is a commercial breeder and is out to make money which could lead to some dogs that may not be as good as dogs from breeders with registered dogs.

But when you are looking for "designer dog" breeders Winsome provided the kind of dog we wanted. When I get my second dog I may just go with a registered purebread.

In conclusion I am neither for or against Winsome Kennels. You need to make your own decision based on the information available.

Jamies Sheppards personality is described as a Sociopath.

Traits include: Egocentricity; Callousness; Impulsivity; Conscience defect; Exaggerated sexuality; Excessive boasting; Risk taking; Inability to resist temptation; Antagonistic, deprecating attitude toward the opposite sex; Lack of interest in bonding with a mate.

Sociopathy is chiefly characterized by something wrong with the person's conscience. They either don't have one, it's full of holes like Swiss cheese, or they are somehow able to completely neutralize or negate any sense of conscience or future time perspective. Sociopaths only care about fulfilling their own needs and desires - selfishness and egocentricity to the extreme. Everything and everybody else is mentally twisted around in their minds as objects to be used in fulfilling their own needs and desires. They often believe they are doing something good for society, or at least nothing that bad.

There are at least four (4) different subtypes -- common, alienated, aggressive, and dyssocial. Commons are characterized mostly by their lack of conscience; the alienated by their inability to love or be loved; aggressives by a consistent sadistic streak; and dyssocials by an ability to abide by gang rules, as long as those rules are the wrong rules.

We have been breeding dogs for 15 years and there was never any negative posts on the internet. Since Oct/08 there has been an ongoing campaign by a disturbed breeder to discredit our kennel. The majority of our staff have been with us longterm and are committed dog-lovers. There is a small turn over in the kennel business and so we occasionally place ads for new staff. We also place ads for summer relief for employees going on vacation. This particular ad is for a vet tech & assistant vet tech. We hire qualified staff to care for our dogs. The comment I am responding to is just another shot by a competitor.

For the past 27 years i have been in the horse and dog business and have been at all kinds of facilities and never seen a kennel so well thought out and operated.The animals needs come first at Winsome Kennels,that means from their individual diet needs,clean safe place to sleep and play,veternary care when needed as well as loving hands taking care of them.Some of the dogs came from abusive situations into the loving care of Winsome Kennels,but people with common sense know how deep past abuse sits in animals and that it takes a very long time to gain their trust and that there always seems to be a tendancy to be a little weiry and shy.
As the full-time Professional Groomer at Winsome Kennels to groom all Winsome kennel dogs.I am stating first hand our dogs are kept in clean safe facilities weather it be out in their run or in their kennels at night.The dog are washed and groomed,ears cleaned, nails clipped on a regular basis. Everyone is checked daily to make sure every dog is in good health before we put them to bed later in the in the evening.
I recently purchased a female rotti puppy from Winsome Kennels and am very happy with her character,intellegence,health.Any questions i have about my puppy Jamie Sheppard has been more than willing to provide answers.
This person making these accusations also sells puppies for money doesn't that make her kennel classed as commercial because they also make money selling dogs?Also if the person was from Columbus they should know how to spell their own city.

Our relationship with our vet in Surrey predates our move to the Coast. Furthermore, if an issue arises with a puppy in Vancouver we are able to send the client to our vet and have an assessment done at our expense. There is a substantial difference in what a consumer is charged for vet care and what we are charged as a breeder. While it would be time saving to use Vets on the Coast, it costs far more and would not be of service to our large client base in the Lower Mainland.

The terms of service of this site state entries must be true. The problem here is that the site does not remove untruthful entries and only allows the company to place a rebuttal or ask the complaintant to prove their allegations. We therefore ask the complaintant to prove these outrageous allegations.

Since we know we never sold dogs to anyone in Columbus, Ohio and the spelling of Colombus is wrong in the original complaint we are fairly sure the author is a breeder in Victoria, BC who has a poor command of the English language. One only needs to look at the entries in other forums to see the commonality of the poor grammer skills.

The report filed against our family business comes from another breeder in Victoria. She has been on a campaign to discredit my kennel since losing a small claims action against my kennel. This report is so full of lies. There are lots of suggestive comments but clearly not one piece of evidence to support her accusations. The only scam artist here is the one who filed the slanderous report.

We are a commercial breeder employing 4 to 6 care givers including a full time professional groomer year round. Our kennel has been accessed by a court recognized expert and this report is available to anyone visiting our kennel. We feed human grade kibble and organic yogurt to our dogs. We have large runs with ponds for the dogs to play in. They are all outside 8 hours a day playing and just being dogs. They are happy and healthy.

A virtual tour link on our web site clearly shows our amazing facility. To suggest we are a puppy mill is so absurd it only shows the ignorance and malice this breeder holds.

You will note the lack of other reports about our commercial kennel in business on The Sunshine Coast for more than 5 years . Anyone of the following organizations or companies will be glad to provide an accurate statement regarding the quality of care and conditions of our dogs.

I recently became aware of these reports and feel that it would be valuable to hear an actual customers experience while dealing with Jamie Sheppard and Winsome Kennels.

My husband and I bought our puppy from Winsome Kennels in May 2008. We made the trip over to the Sunshine Coast from Vancouver. I did my research on the kennel and felt secure that I was dealing with a reputable businessman. When we arrived to look at the puppies we were thoroughly impressed with the kennels, puppy cabins and open runs that Jamie had built. We were given a tour of the entire kennel. We were shown all the adult mothers and fathers and from a first hand account, I can say that the dogs are all healthy, well feed, and happy. None of the dogs were in distress. No I am not a vet, and I understand many problem are genetic and don't show up right away. However, Jamie did provide the name and phone number of his vet, and a health record of the puppy we bought.

The fact that the website has photos and a virtual tour is evidence that Winsome Kennels is an open book. The SPCA communicate with Jamie and the Kennel and have an open invitation to conduct spot checks. They must also respond to any complaint and if they felt there was abuse happening the kennel would be shut down.

Our little dog is the most even tempered intelligent dog I have ever owned. He is so sweet and we love him to pieces. He is healthy and has had no health issues.

I have since contacted Jamie with questions and concerns and he has promptly replied and answered all my questions. From my own personal experience, this man is not a con-artist, he is simply a good businessman that represents HUGE competition to other Goldendoodle breeders in the Lower mainland and Vancouver Island.

I am dismayed that the other reports that are posted have no concrete evidence, just accusations.

Disgruntled customers are an unfortunate fact of life. That you feel the need to post such drivel because of it...is just sad.

Folks, I really suggest you check out the link to the other 'complaint' that this person posted. I responded to libel with FACTS to the contrary, including photos that actually back up what I'm saying. For the record, I'm the independent contractor who's actually building the site in question. I've set my preferences so I'll be notified of replies, in case anyone has any other questions after reading the other thread.

As No Gibson Vets will deal with Mr. Sheppard he drives four hours to a mainland vet clinic. He needs to take the a ferry ride off Gibson Island were he lives because of his horrible local reputation. Surrey Vet is unaware of all the health problems with Winsome Kennels dogs due to Mr. Sheppard is believed to be shooting sit dogs. Police even showed up at the kennel to investigate gun shots but Mr. Sheppard tempered showed up again and he blocked and denied them entry with out a warrant. Mr. Sheppard fills out all the paper work on the puppies, and the vet just injects them with the vaccine. Surrey hospital reports seeing hundreds of dogs a year from this breeder but does not mention seeing any adults or doing any health checks or testings on any of Winsome Kennels Dogs.
Becareful of this Vet clinic as they support this large kennel.
