over a year ago I was shopping at K-Mart in grove city ohio. There I decided to purchase a wirless phone and services from the wireless retail keosk after talking to the sales person working there. She informed me of the plan and the phones that were available.I decided to take the panasonic phone that she stated worked the best in my area. She explained they were temporarly out of that phone but would have them in a couple of weeks, but in the mean time I could use the phone she had available and she would exchange it when they received the panasonics in. I went ahead and signed up with the at&t service plan and she activated the phone. When I tried to use the phone it didnt work so she de-activated that one and found me another one and re-activated it.

She told me the phones didnt work good inside the store and it would probly work fine outside. Once outside I tried numerouse times to make a call and still no luck.Fustrated I went back to the store and she re-activated the phone once again and finaly I was able to make calls but once connected for a minute or so, the phone would shut down in the middle of my conversation and I would have call back the person many time to complete the conversation. I called the lady
at K-mart and she told me when the panasonic phones came in she would call me and exchange the phone.

After not hearing from her in 30 days I went back to exchange the phone.the people at the wireless retail reluctently took the phone back and att&t cancelled my service and refunded my fees.I thoght this matter was settled untill 2 weeks ago when I received a bill froma credit collection agency wanting $200.00 for wireless retail or they will take further actions to collect.I never even had the phone the last year they have it. This is a very poor example of business practices and my first and last with a cell phone company.

Shady sales rep

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

I worked for this company for some time, the problem is they are very large and wide spread company that rely's on what sales (or returns) are entered into the system. In this case it sounds like a very unprofessional sales rep was in fear of losing there commision on there sale and never reported the cancel of the sale. So in turn wireless retail saw a phone given to a customer in which they never received commision from at&t, so they bill you the customer $200 to recover the actualy retail value of the phone. If you still havent had this matter resolved you should take it up with wireless retail customer care, there number is 866-259-care. I hope this has been somewhat helpful.
