Employees of school districts may occasionally pick up supplies or order supplies and pay for it out of pocket because they found it cheaper elsewhere. The districts now reimburse them by adding it to their paycheck and then tax the employee as if that is actual income. So if you pick up $100 worth of supplies, they show it as income. You don't get the full $100 back, you get 25-30% less! And this is allowed by state law!
