Wix.com is probably (actually, definitely) the worst company I have ever dealt with, whether online or bricks-and-mortar. I run a small web design company, and we recently started desiging clients' websites through Wix, so that the clients could take control of their own websites once the basic design was done by us professionals.

The problems started when I 'degraded' a customer account from premium-no-ads to free. Only, what happened was that Wix repeatedly billed me every month for said account despite the fact that it had reverted to free. Although I eventually got my money back (no apology of course), I had to put in a gargantuan amount of work! Their customer service is despicably rude and it was only after I publicly humiliated them by posting the full and frank details of the case on their own forum (which received well over a hundred views) that I got my money back.

The latest fiasco, still unresolved, is that Wix has cancelled two plans on my account. Both plans belong to businesses whose websites I designed. The two businesses in question paid me for a year's hosting; I then did the transaction with Wix. But what happened? According to Wix I 'cancelled' them. I've tried asking Wix the rhetorical question: why would I possibly cancel my own clients' accounts that they've paid for, but have received no reply.

Wix.com's customer 'service' is abismal, their billing system is a mess, and they're the plain rudest company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

My advice: stay well away (Wxxxx(((REDACTED))) would be a good alternative).

Why use a template in the first place

If you are a web professional why are you using the easy template? you said that "once it is done by us professionals we turn it over to our clients" Professionals? You can't even use HTML coding in Wix it won't recognize it. Your charging people to build a snap together web site, which is easy to do, and instead of letting them know you used a template based system your marking up their hosting prices in order to gain more profit. Do yourself a favor, learn some coding, by CS4 adobe design studios and you can use free templates from the web to create real web sites. Your clients would love to know they paid you to do something they easily could have done themselves.
