Wizard of Claws continues to deceive people by way of internet sales, newspaper classified ads, etc. As I read the latest Rip Off reports posted on this site, I realize that people are still being hurt by these unscrupleous people, selling puppymill puppies. Their web site now claims they are adopting out puppies that are not being sold for a fee of $200.00 to cover costs. In other words, the puppies that they can't sell, they will cut their losses at $200.00, so they are not stuck with them.

They are trying to make the consumer believe they are saving or rescuing these puppies. In reality, they purchased them from the puppymill and can't sell them. They are getting older, sitting in a cage in the back room and don't know what else to do with them. If you "rescue" one of these puppies, you will, in reality, be saving Wizard of Claws from losing money. They will only turn around and fill the cage with another puppymill puppy. Buyer Beware.....These are without a doubt, puppymill puppies. Wizard of Claws, although they claim they are breeders and consultants, they are nothing more than a pet store.

Jim is a overbearing, rude person, who lives to intimidate people, and will stop at nothing to shun his responsibilties. Jim, although I know it will not cause you to even raise an eyebrow, I hope you have read all of these postings about Wizard of Claws and realize that people are not going to keep quiet when it comes to their love for animals. You are stepping on the wrong toes.

That's Not Adoption - It's a Sale

You mention that Wizard of Claws "adopts" out dogs for two hundred dollars to cover their costs. You are correct in your statement that suggests they just don't want to be stuck with them. There are other places that "adopt" out dogs for various reasons and the fee is $0. I have an absolutely beautiful 4lb. female Maltese that was given to me free of charge by someone who specializes in teacup puppies. She had a health problem I was told about immediately. The owner did not want to send her back to the breeder because in all likelyhood she would have been put down. She was happy to absorb the loss as long as the puppy had a shot at life. I took her and got her the medical treatment she needed. She is now 4lbs. of healthy, happy puppy.( She's not actually a puppy anymore, she's 15 mos. old). The point is, adoption shouldn't be about money, it should be about the pup. Covering costs shouldn't even come into play when you're dealing with puppies, it should be about their lives and their futures. Sadly, WOC seems to be earning more than money, they seem to be earning a reputation that suggests they should not be trusted, that they are not true to their word or guarantee and that their profit is more important to them than their customers and or the puppies they purchase from questionable sources. Adoption is about the adoptee, not dollars and cents.
