I own a business in Jasper, Alabama. I purchased advertising time on two local radio stations for $350.00 each for a month of advertising on both stations ($700.00 in total) plus some questionable favors that they had asked me to do in the form of filing some false reports against a competitor that they wanted to damage during the holiday season. Terrell Manasco, the sales manager for the radio stations) promised me that my ads would start the day after I signed the contract and that new customers would flood into my business. I listened to both stations constantly waiting to hear my ad and I never heard it. Not one time during the month following my signing of the contract. They sent me a bill and it was paid. They gave me instruction on what they wanted said about the competitor and I did that, too. I created numerous fake Facebook profiles falsely attacking the competitor for them just as they asked. After the bill was paid, I asked them for a copy of my ad. They claim that they don't have a copy and refuse to provide me with a copy. I never saw a single new customer. Now, I have friends telling me that Brett Elmore is laughing about how easy it was to take my money and that his dad (Johnny Elmore) forgot to place my ads into the computers so that they would play and that they expect I will never know and that it is my word against their word. This was $700.00 that these people took from me during the holiday season when I needed it most. Do not deal with Oldies 101.5 or 88.5 The Planet in Jasper, Alabama! You will be ripped-off!

I believe that "righting the wrong" is just exactly what I am doing. I was wrong to do their dirty work but they were friends and I was looking at losing the $700.00 so, I did what I was told would save my investment and friendship and that is exactly what I am correcting, now. I am willing to face whatever the consequences are so, you don't need to keep beating the drum of "You are bad, bad, bad!" I believe that is just what I have already said. I am just making sure that they cannot take advantage of others, any longer.

You have an even bigger issue to deal with and it MAY cost you more then the $700 you have already put out. See you have admitted to a CRIME!! What you have done IS a civil crime. One that has a hefty price tag. You can sit there and tell your lawyer that ALL you were doing is a favor for them. But the web IS considered a MEDIA OUTLET. As such ANYTHING you post that is NOT true is considered a form of character damage. It goes by a few different names. Defamation of character. Character assasination. Slander. Basically YOU did THEIR dirty work and now YOU are they only one that can be charged with the crime. YOU may think youre anonymous when online, but that hasnt been true for a VERY longtime. To the general public you are anon or whatever you wish to call yourself. But to the authorities you ARE NOT ANON!!! EVERYTHING you do is logged somewhere. You claim that you made many fake profiles and posted fake reviews. THAT CAN BE TRACKED!!!!
The best thing YOU can do is....
1. Retract ALL statements you have made on behalf of these crooks. By retracting you can help clear up the negative press YOU genertaed.
2. POST YOUR STORY!!! Dont stop with online. Contact your local TV station. The public NEEDS to know that shady and sleezy people are doing this.
3. RUN!! Run from these people. You will have damaged YOUR OWN BUSINESS by admitting to a form of fraud. Distanced yourself so YOU can do damage control.
4. Talk to the people that YOU disparaged by posting all those FAKE and FALSE reviews. THEY need to know that these crooks are ACTIVLY doing this. How can they defend themselves against baseless accusations? They can not. There is no way that THEY can recover from the potential damages caused by both yours and the radio stations actions.
5. If your not going to do ANY of these suggestions then please do us all a favor and STAY OFF THE WEB!!! All you have shown us is that for the right price YOU WILL SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ANYONE. Even people and businesses that you have no connection to. You have shown YOURSELF to be both a LIAR and THIEF!! You have "stolen" the good name the other company had worked so hard to generate. All in the name of making yourself succesful.
Must feel REAL good at night knowing that by your cowardly actions and your lies that you may have cost someone else their entire life. Their house, their marrage, their kids, their business. All in the name of getting ahead. Im a betting man, and Im betting that if they had not screwed you over, you would have continued to make FAKE posts. You REALLY suck as a human being. How would you feel if someone did the EXACT same thing to you? As a business owner YOU should have some integrity.
Morals, integrity, honor, fair play. ANY OF THIS GETTING THROUGH TO YOU?? I hope so. Because YOU have put YOURSELF in the path of danger. Yes it may be a CIVIL crime, but CIVIL means MONEY. And when a judge hads down the punative damages portion they like to take into consideration the SLEEZY factor. The more underhanded and sleezy the tactic, the MORE punishment money has to be paid.
Oh and IF you signed a contract, YOU CAN SUE THEM!! Your contract would state the time frame in which they would have had to play your ads. Since they DID NOT live up to their end of the contract, ANY lawyer would jump on this case just for the quick buck. YOUR contract issue is clear cut. YOU paid them, THEY did not live up to the terms of the contract. You win.
