Wolf Pack Trucking Employment ripoff. Elkhart Indiana
I'm a truck driver. Took some temporary runs with this company for about 2 weeks in January and February 2018. It was a disaster from the start. I was planning my exit almost immediately. It is probably the most badly run company I've come across in my career, and that's nearly 24 years. A guy named Terrence runs it. Seems ok with lying to drivers and brokers. Never got to meet the guy. Likes to hide behind other people. - They rent trucks from Penske, without ever looking at them. I really don't think the guy running the company has any clue about what to look for anyway. Doesn't seem to know anything about trucks. - They have a ridiculous driver agreement that only a moron would sign.
I refused to sign it. - The company hired me without ever getting an app from me, or verifying my experience. They also never asked for my DOT physical. - Wanted me to take a run immediately after taking a drug test, without getting the results back. I told them to wait for the results. - They had no fuel card to give me when I arrived at the Penske rental lot. Funds for fuel were sent to my personal debit card. Big red flag. I was planning my exit as soon as I was told this. - Fuel funds were given to me in relatively small amounts. I was never able to fill the truck up. Multiple times I had to warn them i was close to running out. Everything collapsed on the final run for the company. I knew this was the end. It was a run from Florida to Rhode Island.
I had wait three hours at a South Carolina truck stop for a small amount of fuel because Terrence claimed there was an issue with transferring fuel money. This was the same day my pay was late again. He said he was coaching a little league team, and he forgot. I made it as far as Montgomery, NY before I had to shut down because I was nearly out of fuel. 185 miles from the delivery. Told them I couldn't go any further with no fuel. For nearly 24 hours after I sent that message I couldn't get hold of anyone at the company, and neither could the broker. Like they disappeared off the face of the earth. Had to tell the broker the truth. He said he was calling police to report the load hijacked, because he had sent the company a $1250 advance specifically for fuel.
The company misappropriated that money, and had nothing to give me for fuel. Once the broker said he was calling police that was the end of the line for me. Told the broker I was not moving a load that was reported hijacked another inch. Left the trailer in a safe location, and reported that location to the broker. He thanked me for my cooperation. I sent the company multiple messages telling them what I was going to do. Got no response. I started driving the tractor back to Indiana at my own expense. Ultimately spent $250 on fuel to get the tractor back to a Penske lot in Indiana. Notified the company when the truck was on Penske property. They are cheating me out of about $620, my pathetic final pay. The simple fact is these guys don't know what they're doing. They are liars, and they will play games with other people's money. It doesn't matter if it's a driver, or a broker. If you choose to do business with them be prepared for the risk.
