This applies to the Independence Elementary School in South Gate, California-Please note that the Elementary school has nothing to do with the Woodcraft Org, and that only the schools involvement is that playground and facilities are borrowed.

Woodcraft rangers is the most corrupt organization being led by the most corrupt and unproffesional people I have ever dealt with. Background: Woodcraft Rangers is an after school program where children are to participate in different clubs, activities, etc.

They were given a 21st Century Grant in collaberation with The Beyond the Bell Program and for the last 3 or so years,to provide service to our children and this is what we have....

An understaffed, unprofessional, disprespectful, corrupt group of individuals who dare call themselves a "Youth Organization" aka Woodcraft Rangers

For a site coordinator (Adriana Contreras) They have an emotionally disturbed basketcase, This woman cries in front of the children quite often, This woman is emotionally disturbed and I would say she is unable to handle the title she carries and should not be around children at all.

She causes distress and worry to the children that see her cry, These children range in ages 5 through 12 and that is not a healthy environment for anyones child. A grown woman who constantly has emotional breakdowns should not be allowed to carry any position that includes children or involvement with children.

Also I was able to tell by her demeanor that she is unable to socially cope with the childrens parents, she lacks a professional attitude. She fails to provide adequate staffing and club leaders that take their positions seriously. Adriana does not take her position seriously. The children are unattended and there is not enough staff to supervise. While some children are being picked on, some are being neglected.

For a Regional Manager, they have Marcelino Sanchez- I would say that he is the icing on the cake when it comes to unprofessionalism, perhaps he is the reason why the staff is so disrespectful and unprofessional as he himself has a very condescending and disrespectful way of dealing with things.

He lies about his staff and will lie about children/ parents in order to protect his staff in front of the school principal and administrator, he denies all knowlege of his staffs ill behavior, Ie:- Adrianas emotional breakdowns, when he himself had to visit the Woodcraft Rangers site because of it.

This man will also make fun of parents when they call to complain about the program-His response to a concerned parent who said they would take their complaint to a higher ranking authority of the Woodcraft Rangers org since he was not prepared to address issues concerning his staff, was "You can take it wherever you want" This coming from a regional manager-

The volunteer by the name of Erika is another disrespecful member, who dresses very unappropriately and she is very disrespectful both towards the children and childrens parents. She discriminates against the children and will only pick certain children for her dance club, when it's supposed to be open for all.

If you read the Woodcraft Rangers Mission statement on their website, you will see that my report on them is a very far cry from that.

Woodcraft Rangers has an 84-year history of serving Los Angeles area communities. We have taken a pioneering role in the development of recreational and academically enriching after-school programs. More than 12,000 children and youth, ages 5-18, currently participate in our programs, which are offered free of charge at over 40 sites in the Los Angeles, and Garvey Unified School Districts. Our priority in providing these programs is to promote positive youth development. In order to insure quality, Lodestar Management/Research, Inc., a well-respected independent consultant evaluates our programs on an annual basis.

Independent evaluations dating back to 2000 have consistently found that parents, school staff and student participants express an overall high level of satisfaction with Woodcraft Rangers programs and their impacts. The most recent evaluation found that 80% of elementary school participants and 65% of middle school participants gave the highest possible satisfaction rating when asked if staff was friendly and caring.

Woodcraft Rangers strives to continually improve our services. To that end, we welcome feedback from our participants, their families, and school staff. As CEO of Woodcraft Rangers, I take complaints about our programs and staff very seriously. I appreciate the opportunity to discuss and resolve these matters. My contact information is readily available through our website www.woodcraftrangers.org/staff.html.
