We bought a 1995 Dodge Ram truck from Woodfield Ford on 3/22/06...unfortunately "As-Is". Only 1 1/2 weeks after purchasing such truck we got stranded on the expressway 25 miles from home. Finally got to our destination. Within the next few days our mechanic told us that he couldn't find anything wrong with it. One week later, The truck died out yet again on the expressway. Our mechanic came 20 miles to tow it back to his shop. The next day we found out that the engine had blown. The bearings had blown and the engine is slowing dying. There are metal shavings in the oil!!! I have spoken with a few mechanics and they all say that Woodfield Ford had to have known about that when they changed the oil when they "Quality Inspected" the vehicle before trying to sell it. We need a new engine! We contacted Woodfield Ford and they said you bought it "as-is" but if you get it here we will give you a decent deal on a trade-in. Mind you we paid $6900 for the truck and $1000 down payment. They offered us a total of $3500 for this truck as a trade. After 3 weeks!!!! Then tried to put us in a new truck for $200 a month more. They are not willing to budge on anything to help us. We want to keep this truck. It's in our affordability range. I do understand "as-is", but after 3 weeks!!! Give me a break! We haven't even paid the first payment on it. We got ripped off and now getting ripped off more.
